Thread: 10% commenting on Intros

Hey guys,

So I know this has been discussed before, and there are some good points. Though I think people that cant add to reputation dont belong in the intro thread telling other users what to do, basically its kinda pointless since they cant rep them in.

Sometimes when I see a new intro and someone already commented on the intro, for example post a speed test, I assume that person will take care of that intro. Though as of late I have been noticing people with 10% giving comments, and I dont look into that intro thinking its being taken care of.

That could lead to some confusion, well at least for myself. And ultimately maybe that new user can offer this community something great, and never get a + rep. Also it is kinda annoying because like mentioned above I think that user has been taken care of, but really I need to check just to make sure.

Not to hate on all the 10% people im sure there advice or comments are appropriate and helpful, however for me I feel it causes confusion..



So what im suggesting is once the user has been repped in, they should be locked out of the intro thread/section until they can rep which is 33%!

All opinions are welcome here, above is just my thoughts on the matter!

i like this suggestion. it kinda pisses me off when i reply to one, and then a 10% person replies with something like "yes, we need you to post speedtest and then i rep u in." so annoying because it's pretty much just spamming, considering they don't have that rep power yet.

How about you add a pole Chunky?

Why don't you write in your last post to the people being repped in:
"Please do not post in this section again until you have reached 33%"
or something along those lines. Maybe add a few other easily missed rules.

Well until 10% people aren't able to post in there. I say fix the problem before it happens. The people you rep in are your responsibility after all.

Unfortunately we cant implement rules that dont exist, well yet anyways..

Well I wasn't saying that it should be a rule to say that. I'm saying until something is done, people might want to post that. It's not a rule yet, but people with 10% are "scolded" often in there that it pretty much is a rule.

I also suggested adding a few other things because the rules on this site are spread out all over the place. You can't blame someone for something if they can't find a particular rule among the mess. These are all things that reppers might want to do until the rules change and the site becomes more organized.

I think they should be able to view and report, but not comment. I made this mistake when I first started... I thought I was being helpful. But I do see why it is the way it is now, so I say they should be able to see and report (if they know something is amiss) but not comment otherwise.

it's a good ideea!
first, the 10% users can't rep somebody, so they can't give new member acces to community!
secondly, we need experienced users to rep, users that know rules verygood, not new members which don't know all rules!
