This is a guideline on how to rep new users in, while putting your self in the right position to avoid being punished by not knowing the protocol to follow.
- The most important point I can make, which is to familiarize your self with all the rules, and exceptions towards new users who are aiming to join TI. All these expectations are posted in the introduction section. For the purpose of this guide I will post them here.
Now these are all Dave's rules and ideas on how to properly identify eligible users who want to join. Following these guidelines is crucial because it helps us avoid repping in scammers and cheaters, as well as protects our security and our site reputation.
- First, take the time to read the introduction! This is important. You want to meet the user, get a feel of what they are like etc. This also helps with security - you might get a hint that they may have been banned in the past, or even just copied a fellow users intro. Also the way they answer specific questions may also help determine their mind set. For instance trading: some like the idea, others don't. Remember that trading is not allowed here! So you would not rep someone in who wants to trade.
- Also a good tip is sometimes users mention where they are from, If they say "I'm for New York" and post a speed test from Israel, then obviously they are lying and should be banned. Now missing that and repping the user in could result in you being banned, so that is why it is imperative to thoroughly read the entire introduction!
- Below are the questions that MUST BE ANSWERED, in other words the introduction template. In total there are 9 questions, which look like this;
(1) Tell Us A Bit About Yourself:
Hello to the Torrent-Invites community! My name is Rob, i'm 23 years old and i live in London, England. I'm currently studying engineering at university. I'm really excited about becoming part of this community! I'd also like to add i'm a music lover of all kinds, especially rock.
(2) Why Do You Want To Be A Part Of Torrent-Invites, (3) And What Can You Contribute?
Like all other members of this community, I'm hoping to find some good private trackers and am willing to pass on any knowledge i have to help other users. I can already contribute the invites i have accumulated at my current private trackers, and in time hope to contribute more.
(4) What Private Trackers Are You A Part Of?
(5) What Private Trackers Would You Want To Be A Part Of Someday?
As i stated earlier, i'm a music lover. Currently i have an account on VIPMusic and also for my general needs an acount at Demonoid. Being passionate about music, i would really like to land myself an invite to waffles and perhaps TorrentLeech for my general needs.
(6) How Did You Find Us?
Whilst i was searching for information about private trackers i found out that many sites were invite only, therefore i found this site with google.
(7) What is your opinion on trading invites?
I like/dislike trading because...
(8) What's Your Favorite Torrent Tracker?
I can only comment on the ones which i currently have, so i would have to say VIPMusic at the moment.
(9) What Do You Use Torrents For? (e.g Movies, Music, etc.)
As i'm sure you know by now, i use torrents for downloading a lot of music and also some movies as well.
- Another thing I look for is detailed answers. Some user's post one sentence answers. In that case I tell them to expand their responses. Once the questions are answered (correctly) and you are satisfied you may move on.
- After the initial template answers, the user is also responsible for posting a ratio proof (If available) and speed test. If a ratio proof is not available, a good alternative is to ask them to post utorrent statistics, which tells you all their upload/download stats.
- Below is the proper way in which to post a ratio proof. If they post an incorrect proof its a bannable offense. As of late banning is more common, so don't rep users in who don't post proper proofs! You can be banned for it! The following was originally post by Sraosha.
AFTER YOU HAVE EDITED THE SCREENSHOT:
- In total there are 14 things that need to be covered, so be wary of that. Also some user's have the same name here on TI and the tracker they are showing you a proof of. That is a BIG NO NO, DO NOT REP THEM IN, if that is the case. It is a security risk for all of us. In that case the next step would be to tell them their mistake and advise a mod! Once that is cleared up, and they change their name, we're ready to continue.
The last thing needed to be posted is a speed test which looks like so
---
- This tells us what speeds there are receiving. If they have 900 gigs upload with a speed of 0.11, that's a little suspicious. It would take months if not years to get that uploaded, with that speed connection. So make sure you look at that. And mentioned above if they say "I'm from New York" and post a speed test from Amsterdam, then obviously they lied. Also look at the distance; if the test shows Distance~5000 mi, then that's also probably a fake since its really far away. A general rule of thumb is to ask the user to post a speed test from today, that is closest to where they live.
As for the rules here, you should get familiar with them before you decide to rep anyone in! This protects both you and the new users! Rules are below in the two links.

I think that sums up everything, if I have missed anything please let me know, comments are also welcomed!
