Thread: Introduction SubForum Request

A place where people could introduce themselves would be great as I've been seeing introductions in random places. I think it would be a great addition to the community. Anybody have any thoughts?

yea think that is a good idea, we can learn something about members that will stay, and it is fine aproach always if u introduce yourself.

I have toughed about this also. Only hadn't proposed it for one simple reason...
People will use it as a massive spam pool posting only useless post only introducing themselves as: Hi, I am new.
And get a massive amount of reply's from other newbs saying: Welcome. And that's it. That would probably the majority of the post in there. Occasionally there will be a good introduction but for the major part it will only be of those useless post or members saying Hi to people who are here for months already...

agree with Elonoir

I think it would be a good idea (pretty much expected on forum sites). If Dave could make the posts not count for the post counter (like review) then so much the better (people will only post becasue they have something to say and not just to bump their post total).

That could solve it. ^^
Spammers will also get an infraction by me and eventually will get blocked, or they skip a step and get immediately blocked.=)

I still think it would be nice for users to be able to introduce themselves without spamming the general forum. No posts added to count is also a very good idea.
