Hope this don´t count as sheating
PM me and i delete the post in that case.
4 on the richter scale is 4,2 tera joul, 8 is 4,2 exa joul.
Isn´t EJ 1 000 000 larger ten TJ?
And in my head 2 on the Richter scale is an increase with 1000. Then 4 would be an increase with 1 000 000?
What have i missed?
If You want to you can tell me when the comtetition is over
(Sorry for my bad english, swedish people are bad at english)
If You ask how mutch the ground is moving the answer is 10,000 times more in the magnitude 8 earthquake than in the magnitude 4 earthquake. The difference in energies is (if i have my numbers right) 1 000 000 times more.

To tell you the truth I can't exactly tell if you're right (I'm not sure which number you are saying is your answer), but since you said you don't need an invite then I'll let others answer.
