I disappoint myself sometimes too. I misinterpreted. However, one guess per member (~30k) every four hours would still take ~6 days. Well, since we are getting confirmation that one octet is correct we just need to (at most) guess 256*4 times since as soon as the correct octet number is guessed it is confirmed (approximately), and then the next number is guessed. If the octet numbers are not confirmed per field but just in general then those 4 numbers can be repeated or swapped. So, up to 256*4 times for guessing all possible unique octets then 4! guesses to determine the exhaustively determine the field orientation. So, confirmation reduced possible attempts from 4.3 billion to (at most) 1048 attempts, pretty good.

192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 -> 256*2 = 512
172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255 -> 256*2 + 16 = 528
Total 1808.
Now that its known to be of the first form, it needs a maximum of 768 guesses.
