    Here's a pretty good reference site for either C or C++ programming languages.

    C++ Reference [C++ Reference]

    It comes in handy as a reference point when you're away from your actual-factual reference books.

    Awesome materials guys, I need to add it to the main post soon here. (I've been away for awhile, and it's far from "Ultimate")

    Keep it coming!

    I'd like to see where this forums goes. I'm in computer science major and have taken a few programming classes, but I'd like to learn more languages. I took C++ as an elective since I heard that a lot of games are coded using C++. Java is the basis at my school. We take Intro to Programming, which is Java I, then Java II, then Java III (our final project was to program tetris; fun times), then Data Structures using Java. There are also classes that use C like computer architecture and robotics. From what I've learned, in order of difficulty I'd say C is the hardest and Java is the easiest. I really want to extend my knowledge and learn to how code with scripts using Javascript, PHP, or Python, but I never know how to start.

    Edit: I just noticed this forums is 2 months old =\.

    I don't recommend that anyone else do this, but I code primarily in VIM (with a lot of plugins to have comparable features to a typical IDE), gdb, make, valgrind, and ssh. It's kind of an undertaking to use fluidly, but being able to work remotely easily makes it worthwhile for me. Plus, once you get used to the work flow it's very fast. The only downside is that there's not method to quickly create make files (at least that I am aware of).
