The most fun to drive rwd convertible for many years has been the mazda mx-5 or miata not sure what you guys call it.
BMW 5 series? E60 with V8/V12? :)
It's really fun to drive, and doesn't look halfbad.
Well, let me start off with the fact that *none* of the cars you named will save you much on gas. I'm fairly sure all of them take 91 or better ... but, that's not really the main concern if you are truly considering those specific models.
I just purchased a Subaru WRX 5-door this past December and could not be happier! I have right around 3000 on the odometer and average between 19 and 20 mpg with pretty much purely city driving. It's rated for 19 city and 25 highway, so those estimates are pretty much spot on. (Granted I am not running A/C yet, so we will see if that changes.)
It is a fun little car, but it may be too similar to what you currently drive.
Anyway, best of luck mate!

I love my Infiniti M35x. Sounds like you probably don't want a car that big, but it's fun to drive for a large sedan. Good luck!
Audi A5?
Mitzi Evos are nice - well they are shit as far as luxury is concerned but they rock on performance. Real pain in the ass to service as they need servicing like every 4500 miles or something crazy.
Hard to beat bmw 3 or 5 series.
Maybe an Alpha Romeo 159? Really nice interriors if you get the right model - Lusso or TI.

For that price, if you do a bit of searching you could find an E46 M3 with decent miles. It'd be even better if it had BMW maintenance because you can just buy the extended warranty from them. Perfect for cali, especially if you get the drop top. Mods aren't that expensive if you want to fix it up and I think the straight six is more refined if not as loud as the new 4.0 V8.
I will suggest for Honda Accord... its very balance car...
its look its fuel efficiency each and every thing is amazing....
