    Default My GTI

Two months ago I bought a 2011 VW GTI.

In Europe it's long been considered the king of the hot hatches, here, it's given slightly less respect.

Be that as it may, I love them, and ended up purchasing one.

Now - i'm tuning it. It's addicting. Thousands of dollars disappearing quite rapidly.

APR tuning for the ECU, turboback exhausts, intakes, headers and cams, rims, and now I have to look at structural improvements to make sure my engine and chassis can handle the torque and horsepower.

Point being - has anyone else put aftermarket parts into their car? If so, how's the experience treated you?

Even after 800 dollars in improvements it felt like a car that would cost 10,000 more.

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

I have CAI on my jeep.

When I get my own car I will definitly be moding and having my car tuned. GTI s are great cars.

1st on my list if I ever get a hatch.

I would definitely say car modding adds up fast, but I think if you enjoy doing it it's a great hobby. The car you drive says a lot about the driver. To me there is something special about taking a car and making it unique, either with performance or aesthetic modifications, rather than just buying a higher priced car and keeping it stock.

With that said I honestly haven't added up the money I've spent on my car. I know it will be disheartening to think about lol.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of aesthetics when it comes to cars. I think the line between classy and gaudy is too thin to run along. I'd rather look nearly stock and have surprises under the hood.

Cool man, I'm a big fan of GTIs, and I really like what you've done with yours.

i think it's time for me to jump in...

i've always loved Golfs, especially the mk3, that one is classic pr0n for me, just super awesome.
mk4 looked ugly but it was revolutionary and it was the right stepping stone to the sleek and fabulous mk5 which actually is mk6 (just a minor "upgrades" but still the same). so, getting a GTI is the right decision. what's more powerful, is the GTI-R but i guess that's a little bit rare and expensive. though if you get fond with the body but are disappointed with the engine, go for the 24v vr6.

for more info about tuning and stuff, you should stick your nose into VWvortex. their forum has the best info about tuning the dubs.

    *oh, WE NEED PICS
