Thread: Porsche 918 Spyder

Hm, a hybrid sports car that can do 0 to 60 in 3 seconds... and can lap the Nurburgring in just under 8 minutes which means it beats the Carrera GT. Just the fact that it can go 16 miles on electricity alone, New daily driver anyone? It could get me to work and back each day without using any gas! :D

I have a feeling this concept car will definitely set off a few new idea/cars in the near future. And get a few of the other companies going with this.

Porsche lifted the sheet on the 918 Spyder on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show and made some huge claims. A few things got our attention right off the bat — 500 horsepower, mid-engine V-8 and two electric motors. Oh … and 78.4 mpg.

I gotta say, that's hella impressive. Especially the fact that it beats Porsche's own flagship supercar, the Carrera GT. The car itself looks terrible in my opinion.

I think it looks ruddy tasty! Although the rims would probably give me indigestion...

Its an interesting step in the right direction, although its still a hybrid and as such is only a poor hold over until the real macoy comes along in the form of proper fully electric cars (that work in the real world).
