Ohman. Brats are awesome cars, a friend just finished an STi swap in one, it's hilarious
A full STi swap/rebuild including transmission, suspension, etc. is my eventual dream for that car. I thought about lifting it and wheeling it, there's a lot of people into wheeling subarus around here, but I decided that I would prefer a hatch for that purpose, so rally car it is. I would love to see a picture of your friend's engine bay to see how he fit it all in there. I want to keep it as stock looking as possible, I'd prefer not to have a hood scoop, so I'm thinking I'll probably put the radiator in the bed behind the seats (I have the original seats in the bed, and yes they're legal)
A friend has an STI and it's the most amazing off road "car" ever. It was a blast acting like rally car drivers.
