I'm a Taurus, the description is accurate to about 40-50%.
One thing I don't understand is why they say that a Taurus's strength is generosity yet its weakness is being possessive and it can be stingy? Of course if you put contradictions in the statements you should always reach 50% accuracy

I found other horoscopes being more accurate.

My personality changes from year to year quite drastically and if you compared the old me with the person I am today you couldn't believe we were the same. When I was a child I was very different, maybe the description describes the old me a little better. And those 'from time to time' statements could describe anybody because most of us have ups and downs in our lives and we act differently depending on the circumstances rather than following some sort of definitive pattern.

if the predictions are correct or even close, then one can believe in Astrology, but it depends on the Astrologer, how accurately
he is telling you about the individual, which might be true and many be false.

I believe astrology is a valid science.. But it should not serve to direct decisions made in life.. Some part of it is really true.. And some shit in it as well.. I have seen people who have ruined their lives just believing all that the astrologer says and completely surrendering their lives to them.. It should serve as a guide on behaviours depending on star signs but people should never be obsessed with it.. (which i feel is the fact in majority of the cases)

    Astrology and Numerology are fiction.

I suggest you watch the ad hoc "Bulsshit" episode by Penn & Teller.

The Brain Stew section is for intellectual posts. I am not saying that these post are not intellectual, but please add to the discussion by elaborating on your opinions and not just stating them.

I can tell you this guys. I am a sagittarius and that description does not fit me at all.

I think you should watch this video (and I am sorry for making such a short post in the think tank, but this is relevant. I could just write down everything they say in the video, but you should enjoy it more this way):

Do this guys, check the description of the other signs. I bet you will find many things that fit you as well.

Of course it's bs Kevin, I don't think any intelligent and rational person is taking this stuff seriously. It's just funny crap, and you can have a good laugh with all those crazy psychics and mediums :)
There are many good books and documentaries that debunk this stuff. I think the most avid and famous debunker of all time has to be the notorious James Randi --> James Randi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyways, it's sad that the most vulnerable (either emotionally or intellectually) and poor members of our society remain the most likely victims of these money-grubbers and swindlers. Those people are often desperate or don't know any better and will take any glimmer of hope that's offered to them. It's a cruel world. To get some idea of the cruel game psychics are playing, all you have to do is take a quick look at the kind of money these charlatans are asking for a 15min "consult" over the phone - it's outrageous.

Here are some interesting thoughts of an astronomer on astrology (*recommended*). It's a good and easy read and it includes many links to other relevant sites and interesting scientific articles.

Another interesting and recommended read is this book:
Ian Rowland, The full facts book of cold reading: A comprehensive guide to the most persuasive psychological manipulation technique in the world (2008)

the following link provides a detailed explanation as to why this isnt scientifically correct.. it also objects [not directly though] the carlson double-blind experiment which was so far considered an accurate support for the astrology,, by concludig that the science of astrology is not a true science,, and that much of the things are kept as assumptions rather than accurate data-based knowledge.. thus contradicting to any astrology view of the nature and characteristics of a star-sign as a whole or even in foretelling things about the near future..

When astrology is tested by science
