    Default Freemasons - Anyone?

I watched a couple of documentaries involving the Freemasons, and I'm rather interested in seeing if anyone has been affiliated with them would like to answer some questions!

    1. Some people say Freemasons worship the devil or Satan... True False?

    2. Do you know the secret handshake?

    3. How did you become involved with them?

    4. How does one become a Freemason?

How do you expect from someone that is or isn't a member of them to respond to a public forum , to a total stranger aswering these questions?
    If they even exist??

So, no one who was actually a freemason would answer your questions. But you could look up most of this information on the web. Freemasons do not worship satan. That's mostly catholics trying to pin something they don't understand or aren't allowed to join as evil. Freemasons are generally thought of as a group of intelligent people. What they worship doesn't matter. But there are theories that because they are chosen because of their influence and intelligence they have some control over how the world functions. But that's only theory.
The process of joining depends on the location you are in. Some will invite you. Some wait for you to ask to join. Here read this: Freemasonry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well I'd say that's not a theory... and more like a historical fact.
    13 past presidents have been members of the Freemasons, including but not limited to;
    George Washington
    James Monroe
    Andrew Jackson
    James Polk
    James Buchanan
    Andrew Johnson
    James Garfield
    William McKinley
    Theodore Roosevelt
    Howard Taft
    Warren Harding
    Franklin Roosevelt
    Harry Truman
    Gerald Ford

Well considering its basically total anonymity, what would it matter?
I'm only seeking a Freemason's point of view.

My family are part of the FreeMasons and Eastern Stars (the female version.) However, what we do and practice is secret so it's not something we'll ever tell you. Except that NO we do not worship the Devil. In fact, I am Catholic.

I also find their way of life very interesting from what I heard and seen on tv. by my old job they had their own community and stone walls surrounding it with a big gate in front and their symbol right on it.from my understanding they are master builders and such and keep how they do things a secret and teach and past down those secrets and they date way way far back.and thats the part of the reason I stay stuck on the history channel them and ancient aliens lol love that show ;p

First, I will tell you what "I" know about the freemasons, and I am in no way affiliated with this society. By no means am I stating this as fact but as a reflection of my own personal experience of interactions with people who claim to be freemasons and from a personal friend and co-worker (my old boss) who's father is also a self proclaimed mason.

This is false. They are very religious and do not worship the devil.

I've never heard of such a thing. Of course, if it's supposed to be a secret then.... who knows?

I used to manage a plaque and award store that catered to the US military. If you know anything about the US military and their traditions of presenting awards after the completion of a tour of duty, then I will tell you the masons uphold the same traditions. As the manger I had many interactions with self proclaimed masons.

I don't know. But from what I can tell all you really have to do is attend their church or lodge.

The following are my personal opinions of freemansonry and the opinions of my co-worker/boss on this topic.

My personal opinion: These guys and gals are just regular people brought together by some common thread. I have no idea what brings them together. I think it's god, but I regard them as very religious, tight, and very nice people that care for each other.

My ex-boss and old friend's opinion: His father is a mason. His father is also very wealthy and has many connections with political figures within his country. He even has a ring (if that's supposed to mean anything). I've seen home video of his trips back home of his father's mansion surrounded by guard towers and armed guards, his many cars, suv's, sedan's, and staff housing (his maid and butlers and shit). My co-worker claims that the freemason community where we live and the many lodges in the area are "fake" and that their sole purpose is to portray nothing special or out of the ordinary but to re-direct the attention of watch dogs away from the "real freemasons" and their works.

Also, the majority of my dealings with the local masons here were black. I am not a racist, and no offence to anyone that's black, but my co-worker laughs at these people because he says the "real" freemasons would never accept a black person.
Missing since March 3rd: If anyone has heard from our Japanese friend Oki, and knows if he is okay, please PM JustJenna. Thank you.

I was, myself, fascinated with freemasons, their secrecy, their hidden intentions etc... now I'm not so much interested in them... in my opinion, they are some kind of interest group with relative small number of members, specific goal, customs & rules... but they're not the only ones who practice this kind behaviour... just look @ the mafia & its history, goals & actions through centuries... mafia members were once very similar to freemasons but, of course, their final goal was bad, selfish & totally wrong...

today, when we talk about freemasons, we usually think of the people who are very powerful, misterious & who are working in the shadow & from there, they are controlling the world... so the word freemason doesn't have the same meaning like it has had it before... todays freemasons are not strictly just the people who have some specific skills, which are intended to be secret, but bankars, politicians, criminals of all sorts, as well etc...

eitherway, forming some interest group is not a strange or bad thing because all of us belong to some interest group, in broad sense... for example, U're hanging out with the people who are similar in some things ( interests ) to U, U starting a business with the people who have the same goal, skills & qualities like U do, U're participating in some public actions with the people who want the same thing like U do etc...

I don't mind the secrecy & other things, as long it's fair to the other people who are not in the same group in position...
