I must be the one of the few ones who thinks ******* stop this madness already. I mean for thousands of years we have all done evrything ourselves and now people want Robots to do it? At what cost?
Do we really want wars between country's with robots? Do i really freaking want a robot to tell me what to wear today or play soccer for me? Do i really want a robot to go to work for me?
I am sometimes a lot on my PC and i already think this is enough, i can understand talking to irc , but i hate tlaking through msn with my friends, it's like you don't have a life anymore.
AI Robots will be invented by laisy people, who don't want any thrill in life anymore, don't want to make their own breakfast and don't want to drive the car to work anymore. Technology keeps us too much indoors, i am jelaus of the oportunities my father had when he was young, no computers ,no cellphones no nothing. it was just go outside and look for your friends, go play soccer and not FIFA , go drive a car and not Gran Turismo and go live a life and not play SIMS.
We were born to take risks in life, and not have Robots do our heavy tasks ,it's what keeps us busy.
It's the same as when piracy wasn't so popular. When i watched a movie i used to enjoy the fuck out of it, i loved it. Now since i can watch any movie i want and play any game i want , it's gotten a bit boring.
I am drunk now , lol...But someone out in this context i guess i am making sense.
Uhh
BE AFRAID!!
Robot death cometh!
"I have called this principle, by which each slight variation, if useful, is preserved, by the term of Natural Selection."
- Charles Darwin
The term "artificial intelligence" applies to most electronics today, or more specifically, any software which uses complicated decision structures. So, if the actual question is if we should try to make computers think like humans, then I feel it would be a more specific and easy to answer question. If that were the answer, then I believe the answer is yes. Computers always will follow logic, even if we include random numbers it still will follow a specific structure based upon the output of the "random" values. Therefore, we will never have to worry about the things like iRobot where the computers try to take over the world.
The purpose of Artificial Intelligence research should not be misunderstood, though. It is not to replicate human beings, but rather to develop useful machines that can solve problems as well as humans. To such an end, researchers may employ methods that perform more computations than commonly achievable by human endeavor or methods that are not observed in people
For example in my university we are studying ways of recreate a liver and that can only be created with specialized robots.
Basicly what we are trying to achieve with ai is to create things that can do stuff that we humans cannot.
