Never
It depends
My moral compass is so f*cked I don't know which way is up
It depends, if its an independent content or a movie with a cause per say then yes. Otherwise no
When I download a content, once I watch/listen it, then I make a appraisement.
-Did I like it ?
-Is it worth to buy ?
-If I don't buy, can it affect the producer ?
If the answer is yes, then I buy it.
So, I have never felt guilty because I think I am not damaging the industry.
Huge thanks to mylovemylife for my avatar and signature
I started torrenting because being able to afford this media was just not an option for me. It was when I was around 16 that I got into it and I gobbled up as much media as I could. Now that I'm older, and earning, I am a hugely more considerate consumer. I've spent probably $500+ on Steam games (Indie devs), $200 on Android apps, hundreds on small productions and a shit ton more on donations for software developers. Torrenting has actually, believe it or not, turned me into a much more knowledgeable person, in regards to the creation and production of digital content. I've seen the arguments from both sides, with each having their downfall and understood why companies and people do what they do.
I think it's a matter of time before you start spending your own money, not all pirates are die-hard, money-grubbers who hate the corporations. I always reward the developers in the end, if i enjoyed the game.
I only feel guilty if an artist suffers for it. Usually it is the people who "own" the artists that make the real money. I pay for my music, but I feel a litle guilty of that, because the music industry is one of the worst when it comes to the average artist. I also pay for my games, but except if I buy games from EA, Bethesda or Blizzard, I don't feel guilty. I mostly buy from indie developers and small companies and that makes my tummy feel good. ;) My girlfriend buys so many on-sale movies that I never need to download those either.
So the only thing I download is porn, and that doesn't make me feel guilty at all. :D
I don't really think it's stealing, it's not like we download their songs, and then take credit for the making, and publishing of their works. We are merely enjoying their work. For example: When you go to a dinner at someone else's house, are you stealing the food they're serving you? No, you're just enjoying it, and receiving nutrition from it.
No. Before, when I was just a student, I couldn't afford it, and this was the only way to actually listen to music or play games. Now that I'm part of the workforce ( :) ), I'll buy anything I really think deserves it (haven't actually pirated a game in a long time, why, when there are sales for $2-5 for AAA on all major sites likes steam, gog, gamersgate...)
