Yesterday a friend of mine told me about the deep web. He told me that it is 40x bigger than the "visible web". Anyone ever got into this? how about it? Just creating this discussion for curiosity, maybe this could be a issue to make it clearer for everyone. They don't have too many info online for it.

I've fiddled around with it a little.
    Some interesting stuff.
You won't find much without a friend giving you links to sites though.

You can hire assassians, buy drugs, weaponry, etc.
I didn't get into any of that though.

Yeah, I heard that they have some pretty fucked up stuff in there.. But how about this freedom nowadays? pretty good (obviously i'm not supporting this stuff like assassins) when we all say that nobody is free anymore.

How "hidden" can it be? What does it even mean?

Secret URL's? Well, we have those in the "normal" web.
So, to summarize, I have no idea what this deep web thing is.

Special thanks to drauka, pulser and Trevor for being so awesome.

hidden as hidden can be. You can only access trough proxys and Tor. Nothing is traceable there.

i once tried TOR. it sucks for now. very slow. And definitely not my cup of tea.Not many are into it for now.Still in the testing phase i guess. And its only for those stuff which are not accepted by our society in general.I mean almost everything forbidden in general goes there. Its my personal opinion from whatever i have seen so far.

And Cheers to our forum here that these things are being discussed here.Looking for really expert opinion from the experienced guys here.

Also to add if someone wants to understand how it works in layman terms a simple search on google with keyword tor wiki will help.I dont know if i am supposed to post the direct link.

    Encrypted traffic on TOR.
A good search engine for the deep web hasn't been developed yet, which is one of the main reasons it's so "hidden".

Yea, slow at the moment due to the amount of users compared to people hosting nodes.
