Default Upcoming Election - Obama and re-election

Now that's it's drawing ever closer to the next U.S. election, I want to go where few dare, even though it’s been argued about before. I’m talking about the reasons people voted for Obama.

Say what you like, call me what you what, argue with me until your gums bleed… but I truly believe that the “majority” of black people voted for Obama because he is ½ black. (And if you say otherwise, let’s play the numbers game where we put the amount of people that voted in the last election, against this next election, and I will prove you wrong.)

The “majority” of the other minorities voted for him because he is a minority, and the “majority” of white people voted for him either because “it was the P.C. thing to do”, or they didn’t like McCain, and were too afraid to venture outside of the Re”pubic”an or Demo”crap” power parties and vote for an unknown.

Now before you go jumping down my throat, let me first say… I understand that. Hell… I’m fine with that! Why? If a Hungarian was in the next presidential race, who the hell do you think would be my first choice without knowing a thing about him? I’m no better than anyone else. My father is from Hungary, I speak the language, and I have mad love for all Hungarians, and anything related to the country. It’s Human nature to go with someone you are comfortable with or have something in common with. It doesn’t make for the best vote, but it’s what we all know.

What pisses me off is denial, and people who make up stories to cover the truth (i.e. “Ohhh, I like his ideas on Health Care.”)Really?! Come on.

I actually respect the videos of the black people on YouTube that flat out said they voted for him because he is ½ black. They were being honest and didn’t give a flying crap about it. Good on them!

At least I’ve got the balls to admit why I’d vote for someone. People are so touchy feely and afraid of being labeled this or that, or offending someone, that they’ve lost the ability to say what’s really on their minds. If we keep up like this, we’re only headed further down a spiral tunnel of lies.

The truth is… none of us can really make the right choice. All politicians are self-serving, and the powers behind them look out for corporate America and the wealthy before anyone else. Its how it is, and it will probably never change until enough people get pissed off enough that there is another Revolutionary War… where the cycle will repeat again, and that government becomes corrupt.

Side note…. Yes… I said “Black People” in the above rant. I think the term African-American is illogic, unless you were born in Africa, and naturalized to be an American. I refuse to use it. That’d be like someone saying they were a Polish-American when it was their great-grandparents who were from Poland.

    But.. but.. Obama is freeleech!

Seriously now, I'm not an American and neither do I vote in the US but in general all politicians are corrupted. In my experience it doesn't matter what kind of president the US elects because its a historical fact that America has always had the most aggressive and dishonest foreign policies than any other country. The only one who tried a different way and make a difference was murdered.

You've got a good point Magyar, but you forgot one group, the apathetic. They'd rather just sit around and whine and moan about the current state of affairs, while not getting off their lazy arses and doing something about it, like vote. But, then again, they'd probably vote for the best looking one on TV, rather than the issues.

It's amazing how many people hate us. But, they have no problem taking our foreign aid, disaster aid, or letting out troops fight and die, while using our resources to fight their "Global Causes". Then all they can do is whine and moan because they can't dictate to us how to distribute our aid, or control our military and decide how resources are used and how our soldiers die.

Geez, we should have stayed out of WWII and let all of you be Nazi slaves, but you'd probably like that, since the US wouldn't be a part of it.

There is no global cause when you invade foreign countries in the name of "freedom". If you could add subtitles, freedom would be translated to petrol or general profit to whatever your military/politicians do. That's it. That's what happened in Iraq, Vietnam, Hiroshima, Nagashaki etc etc. If you want to see your nation as a liberating one, then go ahead and live the American dream and go to sleep. Besides what you are saying has nothing to do with what this thread is all about.

80+ percent of African Americans are Democrats.
While it is true that some blacks voted for Obama because of his skin color, it is also true that many whites voted for McCain because of his. In fact, a lot of conservatives here in South Carolina refer to Obama as a "******" in daily speech.
What is the difference between African American and Black?
African American is an ETHNIC group, just like "germans" or "poles", gypsies, Quebecois etc. African Americans trace their ancestry and culture to slaves during the colonial period.
Black is a RACE: "white", "Oriental", etc.

Good point and I respect your honesty, I guess there is truth in it, it's one of those where we will never entirely know, but I guess we just have to respect any decision no matter what the case behind it is.

Remember folks not to let this thread get out of hand and keep things respectful.

You're right _ASH_. Although I was honestly expressing my opinion, I didn't want to sound brutish. If I did, my apologies to whoever I might have offended.

For the record... I wasn't pro McCain either. I always vote independent. I'm sick of both "power parties" and feel as though it's time to get some fresh blood in DC.

Hell, might as well vote for someone based on something arbitrary like their skin color. When your choices are a giant douche and a turd sandwich, does it really matter?

Both parties are screwing (wtf when did T-I implement a swear filter?) the common man over in order to get donations (read bribes) from corporations and other interest groups. Both parties seem to want to destroy the freedom that currently exists on the internet, and they both are gunho about domestic spying type shit.

Those are the issues that are critical for our nation. But you can bet your ass that you won't hear anything meaningful commentary on either those issues in mainstream media or in any sort of public debate.

Lets not start a thread off with warning that you're gonna upset people. That's just asking for flames. Title edited.
