Default SOPA, IP-Protect, etc. Bittorrent disscussion

Hey guys, im not sure how many of us could be affected by the SOPA( stop online piracy act) attempting to be passed in the US. Im not an expert but i didn't see a thread on this yet so i figured that i would be the one to start this. If i understand the news correctly, it would allow for the removal and take down of domain names under us control but leave the ip addresses intact. There are other conotations but it seems like it will be ineffective as people will just learn how to get what they want.

In my opinion is SOPA just the US' way of censoring the internet, the same way China did, but a lot more brutal.
The MPAA and other anti copyright organizations just use it is an excuse to destroy the internet as what it was - an open place. It should obviously be open inside the laws, but it's not the way to stop piracy. It may very well reduce it, but piracy will only stop when it's actually easier for people to aquire content the legal way and not illegal - that's what matters.
People will always find a way around the system, but when you take them the motive - they obviously don't even feel the need to do so.
I also think that cenoring the internet is highly problematic, because they can also use it to take down one of their competitors, for example.

If i remember reading correctly, all they need to take the site down is the approval of the Attorney General. This means a few hours is all it needs to bring down a site by name. Start logging the ip's of sites you like or get vpns ready.

Yea exactly that's what I meant with people will find out ways to 'screw the system' and it won't change anything, but it's highly problematic, because it's extremely easy for them to take down domains and can easily exploit that.

Its going to create people who are more p2p savvy and this just will mean that the users of this site will become even more popular as we have some idea of what to do.

Would this effect users outside the USA?

If we had VPNs that routed our traffic to other countries would the sites still be blocked?

    Now that's good question.

If the site is within america then i guess the users are f*cked up (if they block the site not just the www.blabla.shit ;d)

edit: dont try to click on the "link" its not real so... xD

i dont think this is the ri8 way to stop piracy......the PPl who make cracks for lot of things like soft and and games....for them its not a problem to release movie in sites that same day when it releases in cinema(cam release).......so i think they do it for fun and they want things to share with all and it feels challenging to them to breach any security and any barrier that comes in their way (i mean it coz last time i tried ti crack a software it only take me about 2 or 3 days first day to study that EXE very carefully that time i feel very challenging coz i m gonna make a trial soft work for me like forever without pay(i did this just for test my programming skills nothing more) and last two days for breach in that so this is me i am a noob in this field of cracking...if it takes me 2 or 3 days then they are genius of programing so it may takes a minute to breach....that day i break the security of that software i really feel very good very good in that day i think not more but i can do a hole in some some thing)so if the security of that system becoming more harder they feel more challenging work in that.....and it is also a fight for price i mean high price tag on all product i think....they start that fight that day with a small amount of PPL with them and now they have the lion share support on their part......so the only way to stop this make a price tag that suits all standards off PPL s pocket (which i have doubt on also).....without doing this they start making system more harder this will a clear indicate that this pirate ship will go a lot a lot of miles before it sinks .......after we have a good captain on all pirate ship like Jack Sparrow........

plzzz dont mind for my bad english.....
