Krav Maga is an over rated and out dated system :) I have thought it for years but have since moved on..But my friend, nothing stops bullets, knives, cars or a gang beating..That what this thread is about, personal safety and what measures people take, also sharing stories and experiences so we may all learn from one another :)

What is it that you consider a modern, up to date system to use these days instead of Krav Maga ?

There are plenty out there buddy, simple, efficient, and realistic..Some research into your instructor will help you along the way..One of my previous posts contains a link to a small utube clip of ONE of the best systems,Also check out Urban Combatives.. There is NO complete system, you basically need to find what works for you(to do this it needs to be tried and tested,by you, also you need to be completely honest with yourself) and add it to your tool box..

My area is reasonably good but it seems every few days there is another report of a violent home invasion, which as a family man is a worry. Our gun laws here in Australia are a disgrace, it is not legal to possess a firearm for the sole purpose of self defense and they are required to be locked away separately from the ammunition anyway so you have to ask the intruder to take a seat and get them a coffee while you fetch a shotgun.

I see, so may i ask,do you wear a seat belt while driving? Look left and right before crossing the road?
My point is this, Everybody takes some precautions against danger, its human nature...Some of the the most reckless people, adrenalin junkies, even war junkies take precautions against danger.. Mercenaries who fight in war torn countries,by choice wear body armour to protect themselves against the dangers of being shot, paratroopers, who jump from planes for a living wear an emergency shoot..The thread is how serious do you take yours,i respect the fact that you dont take your safety serious, but im sure there are some small precautions that you do take, even without realising you are

I feel the same way as sora, with the exception that if i was to feel any threat to my life from another human I wait for them to act so i may hurt them.
I will let them hit me tell they are happy then beat them down.

I do ware a seat belt but that's only because I don't feel like being pulled over.
As to everything ells unless I am with someone or it is illegal I do not act in a safe manner to increase the chances of me not dying today.
I do notce the things I shouldn't do or things I should do to increase the chances of survival, but I don't act on thos things.

I am pretty sure that if a time comes my body and mind will work well together to get me out of a pinch alive, if not it was fate i guess lmao

So I guess maybe my personal safety that I relay on is instinct and experience or something. lol

In all honesty, I've been through so many times were I was close to being on deaths bed or knocking on deaths door I do want to survive now to tell my story, however when shit hits the fan I've come to accepting death and saying my goodbyes. As for driving and such, the only reason I wear a seatbelt is not to get a ticket if I see a car coming and I'm at a stop sign it's normal for me to gun it to beat them, it's a thrill that I love.

But yeah, when everything with me flares up you really don't feel like living cause it gets to hard. The people around me though I would be devastated if they passed away, the thought of it alone bugs me alot...

Oh I'm safety conscious. I put a password on the puter, so if they do break in, they won't screw with my ratios!

But seriously, with home safety, just make your place a little harder to break in than the other options around you and don't flash expensive stuff/cash around and I find that the chances are seriously smaller. Just some common sense things.... oh, machine gun turrets are a great deterrents.
