    Default European Revolution

Since 18.00 GMT yesterday I have been witnessing something incredible unfold. I found a link from Twitter to Facebook, so I opened it to find an event named European Revolution; with all this news of what happening in Egypt, Tunisia and Greece I took interest. At the moment I joined it had only 8000 member as of now it has 33,300! This one event has sparked up a multitude of smaller events in Cities across Europe, South Africa, Argentina, Ethiopia and their were mention of one in the USA.

This is the start of something big. <<- Investigate.

There is no demands at the moment, people are angry and annoyed that they don't have a voice, and they're demonstrating that. We are nations that are run by power and money and it needs changing. Read this: Home - Real Democracy Now! I don't know what'll come from all this, even if it doesn't succeed it has started something.

I don't anything significant will become of this; modern humans only work together in the form of revolt when our immediate needs are being compromised, e.g. ability to eat, to stay clothed, and to stay in shelter.

People do have a voice; it's just that their voice is shadowed by an inability to express themselves effectively, and the pure number of other voices. We are all in control of our own destinies, and we are the signators and active consenters to our society's.

Under the universal common law, if you are not actively sitting in front of the bulldozer, as it were, you are consenting. The only excuse you have for not sitting in front of the bulldozer is if you someone has a gun to your head and is threatening to pull the trigger. In other words, acquaintance is consent, and duress is only a valid defense when you are in immediate risk of loss of life or severe injury. Some social media thing is pretty much irrelevant when people are so lazy and apathetic.

Our lives are too soft and easy for anyone to sit in front of the bulldozer, as it were.

Well I only speak for Sweden and Lenin said if the Swedes were going to have a revolution they’d probably go to the police station to ask permission first - and that‘s very accurate”...lol

The only countries that are having all this civil unrest and such is the ones that aren't happy with their leaders due to there being shit on for quite a while. All of the more stable countries are going to continue to be stable. The only reason there has been this chain reaction of unrest is because one country has seen how their neighbor had managed to get rid of their leader (aka problem, as far as they are concerned) so tried it themselves.

The world isn't suddenly going to have one big revolution as dramatic as it may be, it just isn't realistic. Also if in your first post you think that Anonymous are going to attempt to make something happen worldwide? Sorry but it just isn't going to happen.

To organize an effective protest, you need structure and people who are truly committed to the cause -- willing to be arrested or killed. Social networking provides the exact opposite. History has shown that you're best off working with people you're close to -- they're the ones who will listen to your crazy ideas. Invite 500 of your Facebook friends to a protest, and 498 will RSVP "maybe" (meaning no) and the two who show up will only be there because they want to see you get your ass kicked by the riot police.
That's from a recent cracked article about the so called "Twitter Revolution". Here is the full link to the article

Yeah, Facebook (or Twitter, et al) is enormously popular. But I don't see it as any sort of catalyst for revolution.
Closer to another opiate for the masses. Or Valium if you prefer.

Agreed... If there is no REAL motivation or despair, all of the social websites on the net wont help you.
