Personally I do not believe in God in the traditional sense. For one I would refer to him as more of an architect and less of a deity. It is my belief that whoever made us didn't hand craft everything, but simply put all the workings in motion with a general idea of where they wanted the universe to head, then let it unfold and observed the results. I think they don't so much nitpick at our every choice and weigh the good vs evil offering eternal paradise as reward, as they just kind of watch the universe and observe in awe over how well it all fits together (at least until a vacuum metastability event occurs and we're all replaced by a far superior and more stable existence)
Just my views though, I don't look down upon anyone else or their belief system . . . except for Scientologists, but mostly because Battlefield Earth was horrible.
I do not believe in any god. I can't prove the existense of a god, as I can't prove the existense of a flying spaghetti monster. So I find it non-sense to believe in either one.
I believe in Windows 7 God Mode... sorry, saw both these God-related threads at the same time from the main forum page and had to post it.
Seriously though, I was raised Catholic but now I'm a man of science, and similar to what btard11 said, I don't believe in things that can't be proven. I'd say I lost my faith in God/religion in college.

I always found this argument a little ridiculous. I don't look down upon atheists, but I will say inability to prove is not something to necessarily base to disregard possibility. Look at all of the theories of great minds in the past, science has to catch up with ideas in proving them, and something so complex as an omnipotent creator of existence might take a while to prove, especially given that he would likely defy all the rules we use to characterize our universe. We are constantly adapting based on new information. a few centuries ago it was foolish to believe that traveling the sea too far in one direction would not result in a cataclysmic end to your voyage via falling off the edge of the earth. Hell the idea that shoving a stick in the small space between your eyeball and nose was not a good idea didn't actually become something completely accepted by the United States until 1977 . . . that means there are still people alive today who had this done by a "professional" who put in hours of research and "science" to discover that swishing the frontal portion of the brain sometimes made people a little less crazy, even if the other half just got more crazy and/or died. Science is a slow moving thing, for all the advancements we make, we make about a million mistakes along with them, alot of which are accepted as fact due to wishful thinking only to fade from the light and never be mentioned again. All I'm saying is the inability to prove does not mean you have disproved something, only that you truly and honestly do not know the answer.
I am agnostic I believe there is a greater power.
i just dont believe in the way any organized religion portrays him . I feel that most organized religion is a guide to good living, dont kill, dont steal, love your neighbours but i believe that all organized religion involves personal agendas portayed as "gods will"
Well, for christians at least, the things you posted follow along with God's teachings. I don't think organized religions have a "personal agenda" to force upon members to act a certain way. That being said, churches do have to put some sort of agenda for their members to follow, if not for the business side of the church to keep it alive.
Anyway, I'm a christian, and my views align very well with DocDoom's, in that God is not completely controlling over every tiny aspect. I like the architect analogy. I believe God has given people free will to do as they wish, and He doesn't impede on that in any way, shape or form.
Also (for the too literal and critical (IMHO) critics), you can't disprove the existence of God, so why not believe in Him? It makes perfect sense logically to believe in him. If athiests are right, you gain nothing from belief, and simply cease to exist once you die. If the religious people are right, then you burn in Hell for eternity for not believing. Seems like a "better safe than sorry" situation.
(Note, if I seems to attack any one group or single them out rudely, then I'm sorry. I'm really trying not to)
It all depends on your definition of god. While I believe there's "more" (that we're not biological robots; consciousness is an example), I personally feel the religious books are man-made and usually contain too much bloodshed (killing other groups of people because they have a "holy right"- that's what still causes so much bloodshed in, say, Jerusalem).
All very much IMHO, no offense intended to anyone.
I do believe in God and in Jesus Christ His only begotten son.
I do not believe in the false prophets and liars that followed him however!
What I find astonishing is a desire to disprove of God, Jesus and the Bible.
Why is it that MuhamMAD and the Qu'ran are not challenged on the same scale?
The latter is false and lies, simple.

Kindly refer to JustJenna's post Imminent ban on religious discussion
By calling a point of view different from your own "false and lies" as well as posting abuse about the prophet of a religion different from your own you are unlikely to convince anyone of your beliefs. More likely, readers will get a bad impression from followers of your specific religion.
Have you considered that your view of more people bashing Christianity compared to Islam may be based on you not feeling the pain when Islam is attacked compared to strong feelings when it happens to Christianity? People remember bad experiences more than positive ones. Keep that in mind before you yourself attack other beliefs again.
I somehow doubt the moderators will appreciate your post.
