Default The Big Question (Creation/Existence/Life/Consciousness/Everything else)

I was wondering what peoples views on the whats and hows of existence are.
Are you a believer in just sciences discoveries, plain christian bible creation, maya creation, are we all in the matrix, is this the big fractal of everything, Double-backflip-astrological-metapokemon-coppulating-chicken-on-your-flying-space-bed theory or other stuff. If i get enough suggestions i might transform this into a poll (if its possible to do so afterwards).

I couldnt say right now, the only thing that i know is that i dont know enough and there isnt enogh proof or faith fo me to form an actual view on things.

Yeah yeah i know. 42. You can have your fun and write about funny stuff but it would be nice to see some real views on "THE BIG QUESTION" (cant say there is an answer to it).
Also this isnt a discussion, just a place to post points of view.

    Let the crazy talk begin.

As with many things I think the truth is in the middle. Though there's of course a lot of bunk peddled to gullible people, there's still much science really _can't_ properly explain.

Take for example consciousness (no matter how complex you build a robot, you can't program consciousness in it, only attempt to simulate it). Also, there are many registered near-death experiences in which people observe verifiable things they can't see or hear through their senses (not easily dismissed as 'hallucinations'). Or take the (again verifiable) detailed previous-life child memories.

A layman's overview of the scientific evidence for phenomena not fitting the common 'man is a biological computer' point of view can be found in, for example, the book 'Best evidence' from Schmicker.

Needless to say, I believe there's more to man (and animals just the same), and that death is definitely not the end of us. At the same time I consider religions man-made and adhere none (no offense intended).

This is actually the one question that embarrasses science. Because the early universe soon after the Big Bang was extremely energetic/hot the farthest back we can see is about 400 thousand years after whatever started the universe. Anything before that is just educated guessing and experiments that reproduce similar conditions. It's likely that science will never be able to tell what actually started the universe. It's why many physicists can remain religious, to a point. Personally, I leave it as an open question and don't have a specific opinion on the matter.

I believe that the universe is in constant motion. I believe that the universe has always existed and will always continue to exist. I believe that what we call the origin of or universe is actually not the origin of time, but is instead the start of our sector of the universe. After all, if we assume that there was an absolute beginning to our universe, then we also must conclude that there will be an absolute end, which I don't believe will happen. Therefore, I believe that time is infinitely, and therefore our universe is infinite

Ok so many theories to choose from... Let's see.. The Bible, dont get me wrong i was raised Christian, In the Book of Genesis we read that God created the world in six days. Well if we take a closer look we will see that He creates the light first and then the Sun... How could it be light with out sun one might think... Here comes science, after the BIg Bang the first thing that was created was a particule called photon and from them we have the suns and then the planets around them etc. So we see that in some things Bible and science think alike.. but hw about life in our planet... Well leave the bible out (its way too complicated and english isnt my native lang), so Darwin says that we come from monocellulars that evolved and then there where the monkies and finally here we are. Interesting theory none the less but lets take a step back and look both realigious and historical document... Christians talk about Noe and the Big Flud (the God was pissed bla bla only a couple with a boat full of animals made it) but history strikes and from document saved from the era of Nebuchadnezzar we can read about similar fluds but this time not from an angry God but from something else, and that's our "parents", and who where they you might ask nad the answer is alliens. I know i sound silly but there are actual document dating back 5+ thousand years saying that we are the offsprings of an allien race that was close to excticion and they found that our planet was a viable place so the brought some males and females to Earth. Whats with the flud??? in the same docs we read that they visit the Earth from time to time and if we have progressed to rapidly they destroy our culture cause we are not ready to learn the truth yet. This theory is also supported form some findings in Egypt. There are drawing showing the faraow sitting in his throne and his slaves holdind a huge lightball.
Well you can call me a sceptic but i believe them all and none at the same time. I mean we must be crazy to think that we are alone in the universe, our solar system is a baby compared to some others close to us, and on the other hand Bible and science are almost agreeing on how the world was made... These are some facts i have read/hear about.

The way i see it: It's impossible that we exist, because there has to be a beginning, but there cant have been a beginning, because what was there before the beginning? A beginning cant just appear out of absolutely nothing, but if it doesnt, then it isnt a beginning, because something was here before....

Were anyone able to follow that train of thought? :D

Anyway, my argument is moot, because we DO exist! The only rational explaination is that some form of higher being or force, that i'm simply not equipped to understand, is at works.

I guess that makes me religious. I'm not sure, but what i do know, is that the proposed explaination in the bible does not satisfy me :)

I wonder if anyone were able to derive any meaning out of this post :D

I enjoy the eastern view that the entire universe is one system, and we are parts of this awesome thing. the observer is no different than the observed, the thinker no different than the thought. I believe this system is indeed a fractal. I mean look at it. what is an atom? a center mass with smaller masses circling it. what is a planet? center mass with smaller masses circling it. what is a star? what is a galaxy? you get the idea. I dont think there is a beginning or an end because there is nowhere to come from and nowhere to go to. the universe is all there is. people think that since they have a beginning and an end that the universe must, but i dont think thats the case. its like a circle; we are travelling around it, but there is no start or finish, it just keeps going around and around.

I cant really say i put alot of stock in the traditional view of "god" but i do believe there is something/someone watching over us. No scientific facts to back it up but every once in a while i get a moment of grace. I call them that because those are the times that all seems right and i just know that whatever is going on can be overcome. I suppose that makes me if not religious than definitely spiritual.
