Thread: Which Come First; The Chicken or the Egg?

Based on the wording, I would have to say egg. Assuming the chicken came to be via mutation, then the egg it came out of would have been laid by something very similar to a chicken. However, the chicken still came out of that egg so "its egg."

Should be the egg. Assuming you believe in evolution, how species evolve is through small mutations over time to adapt and replace the previous animal, hence the result of humans and other animals. Keeping this in mind, the animal before the chicken kept evolving until right before the first chicken was around, the pre-evolved parents mated and laid and egg and out came the "mutant" chicken (because the surround animals would be the pre-evolved chicken). Eventually this "mutant" chicken had the dominant traits because it was better fit for survival in the world it evolved in and it eventually replaced the pre-evolved chicken preceding it. So according to me, I think the egg came first.

The chicken came first because Adam wasn't sent to this world as an embryo, was he? So the chicken came first and then laid eggs...

I'm on the side of evolution- egg came first from some genetically similar creature. But I wasn't around so who am I to say.

Reptiles were laying eggs millions of years before chickens evolved. Therefore egg wins.

It's a circle! But the egg comes first. How can a chicken be first without an egg to hatch from.

I Totally agree with your thought about it.

But that is if we now belive in the theory of evolution its not impossible it will be proved wrong later on by some new scientific discovery. So i say what i always say we know so little and its all is just theorys and someday maby we will solve this puzzle and realize we are all just sent here in space shuttles from other planets around the universe, maby we are the zoo of the universe which we call earth :)

Who knows only our imagination sets our limits.
