TheLaughingMan's Journey to a Healthier Self: Day 1

It is time for me to get into shape, I have always been a lazy person who ate whatever they wanted and that needs to change. To help me do this I am going to blog my journey to a healthier self, because nothing drives a person harder than peer pressure.

I have already adjusted my eating habits, this is what typical day looks for me food-wise:
1/2 Cup of Plan Oatmeal + Vitamins for Breakfast
Celery w/ Peanut Butter (1-2) stalks for a snack
Turkey sandwich on whole grain bread (no cheese or condiments) for lunch
Handful of Almonds for a snack
1/2 a chicken breast with some sort of veggie (green beans, broccoli, corn) for Dinner
Plus a ton of water throughout the day

This has helped me get from nearly 300lbs to under 280lbs, but that isnt enough so I have decided to start an exercising routine. I have chosen Power 90 (The baby brother of 90x) and today was my first time with it. Let's just say it was a bit of an eye opener. Though I was able to do all the exercises I found myself maxing out about 5-7 reps too soon. This will be the routing I do for the next 90 days.

Today's Routine - Sculpt! Circuit 1-2 (The goal is 15 reps of each)

Now for the hard part, I plan to post weekly picture to show my progress, hopefully showing the world how overweight I am will push me to change that.

Good luck fella. It takes a lot of balls to post pictures of yourself out of shape, but hopefully it'll help with the motivation. I find it a constant fight against my lazy inner voice to get my self working out each day so muchos respect dude.
I'll check in each week to see how you're doing, and, just to warn you, I can spot a photoshopped picture a mile off :)

Kudos for taking charge and doing what needs to be done. You will succeed if your will power or peer pressure are strong enough. You will find it easier if you aren't hungry all the time. Consider eating more oatmeal. Oatmeal and whole grains do a lot to suppress hunger. As do lentils, vegetables and whey (protein powder). Conversely, breads, pasta, any flour products and foods with high sugar e.g. soda will cause hunger spikes. Good luck

Some music I like to listen when I am doing my workouts; Nightwish, System Of A Down, Rammstein, Linkin Park. Music influences me a lot especially when I need to do that last rep.

Good luck mate, hope you manage to pull it off.

If u really that have body u showed us, tell u the truth I do have the same kinda body(sadly enough with 2 big man-boob :D). And i am working on it. my plan is just jogging about an hour with my friend after the morning prayer around 5-6 am in the morning beside the Dhanmondi Lake.

This information can also be helpful : Fat starts burning after 20 mins of exercise.

Hope you make it through on getting on your goal to be fit and to get into a better healthy eating habits , don't be disappointed if you don't see result every week as this things takes a while to accomplish yet alone maintain it . Start slow so your body adjust to it more properly and to avoid crashes , focus a lot on cardio, I know its hard for someone just starting to start jogging, so do power walk , walk briskly for 20 to 25 minutes everyday and do light weightlifting to start . To reiterate cardio workout is the most important part of exercise, just to be safe its always good to have a check up before you do intense exercises .

Everyone that works out on a regular basis or even hardcore (5-7 days/week) with the summer coming knows that it takes dedication.

It's always easy when everything goes smoothly and you feel the results! But then you hit the wall for a couple of weeks and you feel that nothing happens. Then it's important to just keep going. It's always better to have a "bad" workout sometimes than don't work out at all!
