The Red Devils have announced that they will start their preparations for the new campaign with a training camp and friendly matches in Durban and Cape Town in July

Manchester United have confirmed that they will begin their pre-season with a tour of South Africa next month.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side will start by taking on AmaZulu FC in Durban on July 18, followed by a fixture against Ajax Cape Town in Cape Town three days later.

The opening match of the tour will be particularly special as it takes place at the 54,000-capacity Moses Mabhida Stadium, venue for the 2010 World Cup semi-final between Spain and Germany, on Mandela Day.

United last travelled to South Africa in 2008 and the club's chief executive David Gill is looking forward to returning to the country.
"The training camp and matches in South Africa will be an important part of our preparations for the 2012-13 season and an excellent chance to renew our acquaintance with our loyal and enthusiastic fans in South Africa," Gill told the club's official website.
"Everyone has fond memories of the visits there in 2006 and 2008 and, of course, of the exceptional organisation for the 2010 Fifa World Cup."

They should stay in Durban and not come back.

I will try to get tickets to the Cape Town and hope to ask Ferguson why he continues to preach the "no value" mantra when everyone knows he is just sucking up to uncle Malcolm.
