Waddup /b/ros. Oh woops, wrong forum.
Anyways, I would like to give you guys a little warning.
Torrents have always been extremely popular in torrents. It is estimated that around 70% of torrents at ThePirateBay contains some form of malware.

You might think that this is exclusive for public trackers, but you are wrong.
You might also think that you have the payversion of Kapersky, Norton, ESET NOD etc. antivirus, and are fully protected because of this. Think again.

Firstly, let me inform you of how easy it is to make a virus that is undetectable by ANY antiviruses.
Step 1: Pay 20 USD for a keylogger.
Step 2: Make a torrent with something people will download
Step 3: Press a button, choose a file on your keylogger creator
Step 4: Upload to any tracker you want
Step 5: Enjoy 100's of victims that will never know

IPT is recommended in hacker environments as one of the most efficient sites to spread viruses on. Because people are stupid, and assume IPT is safe.

This is why you never should download from IPT unless necessary. I know how this stuff works. I also know that there is more or less no way to protect myself against this. Let's face it. Right now, viruses has the upperhand on security software.

It's a cat and mouse game. Before you know that it is a virus, you have already been affected.

Great, I use ipt all the time for movies. And no virus software works? I've downloaded over 50 movies, several apps over the past month. I have ftn, scc, gft, etc but they don't have the extensive content ipt does.

BTW, how do you know ipt has virus where did you hear this from?

I would also like to know, why especially ipt? I mean its well known that rats etc often are not detected and are spread within torrents, but why do you think that ipt is a special hub for this?

lol I don't use an anti virus, that crap is for noobs. Then again I also never download from IPT so maybe that's why I haven't gotten a virus.....in the past month

    Encryption.
They encrypt the file so it isn't detected.

Okey, let me answer some comments. Antiviruses does not detect it because they are not good enough. Most people believe that antiviruses looks at the program code, and "predicts" what it is going to do, and can tell if it is a virus. This is false. It uses, and tries to match what you download with virus definition databases (mostly) That means if 10 000 people are infected by the same thing, it is going to be detected by antiviruses after next update, because it is manually added by antivirus software engeneerers. I could go on and on about this, but the thing is that one can use encryption with the virus, so that there is no chance for antivirus software to detect.

And this is not a cat and mouse game. Because you might be infected, and will probably never know.

I know that IPT is affected because i know a lot about hacking through computer science. I have friends who is involved with hacker groups. The important thing is that I am sure I am right.

You will only get infected by executable files, after you execute them. But there are methods for concealing that you are opening a .exe file.

I do not know why IPT is a hub for this (except the obvious fact that it was, until now, easy is hell to get invited, and an enourmous usergroup that all feel confident that they won't get any viruses from the site.)

KITE_, it is incredibly stupid not to use any security software. Do you think governments and armies are "noobs" i think you should reconsider. 99% of the time, you will never know you had a virus. Seeing how little you care about security, I am positive that you do have some form of malware on your computer.

And JamesB is right. Even though most good virus creation software is undetected by itself, enryption adds another layer of "undetectability". A well made virus with good encryption will never get detected. period.

woah man are you serious? Do you really have to insult me like that? I was merely joking jeez and no I don't have malware buddy. I change my OS every month guy, Two years with no antivirus and guess how many accounts have gotten hacked? Thats right, zero. I'm also studying computer science so don't tell me I don't know anything about security. You are severely rude, I don't understand why people even remotely like you. Getting offended by something like that, how immature must you be?

If that is true then thnx for the warning Major I thought IPT would be a great place but I have others just as good

    lol,
The point of this is that it happens on ALL torrent sites.
IPT maybe more because they have like 500 uploaders.
The viruses are impossible to catch cause either they have been encrypted very strong or they have been made to become undetectable.
They people who make them and sell the programs to people have been very good at updating it.
Whenever virustotal or some other multi virus scanner site finds a virus, they will release a new version.
Most of the people who are hacking you KITE_ don't want you accounts. They want you in their botnet.
    Other stuff.
Yes most stuff on IPT may not, especially movies will probably not have a virus.
Applications however are where most of the viruses are kept and hidden.

Correct. Most of these crypters are detected after a week to months but some of the private/paid crypters can last up to few months.

The best thing to do is to upload the files you want to check (usually .exe) to Virustotal. Then, re-scan the file about a week later and if it's detected, it's backdoored.

Virus/Malware are everywhere nowadays and you can get it anywhere if you're not careful and have a habit of downloading and installing everything you come across with.

The "pros" usually target servers/data centers , loggers that goes around on trackers, sites/forums are from aspiring hackers to be, honing in their script/coding skills

I am sorry if you felt insulted, I did not mean to insult you, merely to get a point across very clearly. But right now you are trying to extinguish a fire with an even bigger fire.

This is one of the few methods that works. Wait 2 months, and you are more or less 100% safe. But there are programs that will stay undetected even on virustotal for months, if not years.

Allright if you didn't mean to insult me then I misjudged you. I'm sorry as well I don't like people calling me stupid, but I won't drag the issue further. Let's just forget about it
