Bonuses, do you really need that much?

Hello T-I it is I the Enigmatic One with my first and probably last blog post![]()
Let's see where to begin. I've been a memebr here for almost 18 months now and a lot can agree with me that I was a major player on this site for quite some time.
I currently have over 300 iGivers (mainly from bonuses), I'm on the HoF list, I've done some giveaways that blew a lot of people away lol. However at some point this past Janurary I walked away from T-I with the intentions of ever returning, however after 7+ months passed by and I came back with the intentions of not being super active like I once was, but active enough to let others who knew me back then that I was back and to get familiar with the new big players we have here now.
Now back then it was alll about helping the site, being a friend to many and an enemy to few. I got into an obsession which was iGivers. I wanted more than anything to get that almighty iGiver and be noticed as one of the great givers here. And like most people of that time I started to offer more and more bonuses and even added that those who received from me previously would not be allowed to receive from me again bonus wise.
However this was a double edge sword. It wasn't that I didn't want to help those whom I helped before but more because I didn't see a reason for why I should help someone out time and time again as it was apparent to me they was not goig to help themselves.
This irritated me greatly because the bonus system is set up for the purpose of helping one another, however at some point it became an eyesore to me, or it disgusted me to offer any bonuses because I would see the same people applying for my bonuses on top of every other bonus being offer for whichever tracker they applied with through me.
Sadly I am seeing that it was not just a trend that would fade away but in act it's like a game. Time and time again I am seeing the same users asking in every thread for a bonus to any tracker they have. In some cases I'm seeing 5-10 requests for one tracker per user.
Now of course there is no rule against this and it's up to the giver to decide whom they give them out too, however am I the onlly one that gets irritated over this?
Lets take an example here, Animebytes. You can take a bonus of 2,000 yen and turn it into 2GBs of upload. Yeah it's not a lot of course but it's 2GBs you didn't have to work hard to get yourself. Animebytes is similar to a lot of trackers : The larger the file + the longer you seed = more bonus points.
AB is full of free leech items, everything that is 1080p, DVD5, and DVD9 is, has, and always will be free leech on there. Some are huge in file size while others are not so bad file size wise. Any one can take a few free leech files and seed them 24/7 on a home connection and build a lot of bonus points in a relatively short time (week or two).
Now that system is pretty simple in my opinion, however there are some that are simplier such as you get XXX points per hour, per torrent regardless of size. One such site is JPopsuki. I've seeded 300+ torrents all no bigger than 100MBs for weeks on end and built thousands upon thousands of bonus points there.
So here is the thing, with just those examples do you really need a lot of bonuses from us givers on T-I?
I don't expect people to stop hoarding bonuses and helping themselves for a change, nor am I looking down on those who do hoard them, I'm just wanting to know why they do it.
Do you do it?
If so why?
Do you ever think "Well I don't need these points and I'm sure others are in serious need of them so...... maybe I should leave them for those users"?
Do you think "Screw it I'm looking out for number one, who cares if I have 100s of GBs in buffer because of the kind people on T-I freely offering them to me, it's those who need them fault for not getting to the thread before me"
This is just something I've always wondered about and I would like some input on this. Oh and please if you do this don't waste my time by trying to justify the actions by saying "I have a piss poor home connection" or "I can't afford a seed box."
Clearly with the examples I laid out it doesn't matter if you have a piss poor home conneciton or if you can't afford a seed box, all that matters is that you are connectable and seed 24/7 to build the points you need to buy the GBs in upload so you can get the files you want.
Now that probably makes me sound like an asshole but oh well it's true to how I feel about this and I'm not going to beat around the bush. Thanks for reading![]()
