Default Automatically Unrar Downloads using Utorrent

I've been looking for a way to do this for a while - and wasn't really satisfied with the method floating around the place using a a batch file to process finished downloads.

Here's a method I've started using. Which is much easier and customizable.

    1st.

    Download SCRU: Codebyte.org - SCRU

SCRU is an advanced unpacker tailored for Scene releases and is a fantastic program regardless of auto unrarring or not. Inside you will be able to customize a range of settings and filters to make unrarring archives a sinch. Make sure you set this up correctly as these settings will be handling the extraction process of your torrents after download

    2nd.

Inside uTorrent from versions 2.2 up there is a new global "run program when torrent finishes" setting.

Locate the directory where SCRU is stored on your PC (mine is in the root) and enter the following string:

    c:\SCRU\SCRU "%D" *

and that's it! ... after a torrent is finished downloading SCRU will automatically take over and extract the contents into the path that you have specified inside the program.

There are a range of other options inside SCRU which can further automate the process.. For instance I have setup filters to recognise "S0*,E0*" strings for instance and the program auto unpacks into my TV folder .. possibilities are endless .. a great free app

Hope this is of help to some people

This is very true- however, it would be nice on most occasions to just open the folder and booya there's your unpacked file.

Also, because it seems like such a simple setup, why not?

Its brilliant ..along with RSS i have managed to fully automate the entire torrent process. All i do is turn on my xbmc and scroll to recently added items and voila!

I use "The Unarchiver" pretty sure its freeware and handles most popular formats - can specify default destination folders, simple extract via double click and then it will auto delete originals after successful extraction

    Hey,

I'm sorry for digging this topic up, however I have a question.

I have set everything up just as You wrote.
When I did a problem appeared:
uTorrent sometimes just passes the info to SCRU of all torrents in the list, and then starts unraring things that were already unrared creating unimaginable mess for >100 torrents on the list.
Is there any way to prevent that?

Tried putting command in both options:

"On status change" and/or "On torrent finished"

    Would appreciate any pointers.

This is the thing i was looking for since long as its really irritating in my opinion to first download a torrent and then sit and unrar.

Nag of opening the rar program lol (am lazy).
Double space occupied on hdd (weather be temp folder or a defined location).
then either deciding to leave the rar files for seeding back the torrent or deleting the unrared movie lol
Inshort, too much demanded out from a person as lazy as me

    cheers so thankyou mate

Link in the OP is broken. Should be replaced with: Codebyte.org - Projects
