I wrote this guide to share here at ***. Similar info is available at several other sites but my thanks to Benoir at Libble.com whose tutorial was better than the rest!

How To Correctly Upload A File To A Second Private Tracker In uTorrent

Although uTorrent allows you to add trackers to an existing torrent this is not allowed by private trackers. In fact, it will get you into trouble for ratio cheating as each tracker listed will receive stats from the other trackers as well as their own.

Uploading the same file to two private trackers at the same time requires that each tracker have its own individual .torrent file with a unique hash. This ensures that the correct information is sent to each tracker.

This process is the same whether the torrent is one that you created yourself or one that you downloaded from elsewhere. The important thing to remember when using this method is that the piece size must be different for each torrent as that is what gives the unique hash.

STEP 1 – Make Note Of The Piece Size From The Original Torrent File

a) In uTorrent, click on the general tab of the torrent you want to upload.

b) Make careful note of the piece size for that torrent. We are not interested in the number of pieces, just the Piece Size which is given in kB after the number of pieces (the second number).

In the example below the piece size is 32 kB. I have also highlighted the infohash. This is what we ultimately need to have changed in order for the torrent file to be unique to the second tracker.

Step 2 – Create unique .torrent for second tracker

a) In uTorrent click 'create new torrent' and under ‘Select Source’ add the directory of the files you want to upload. This is, obviously, the same directory as the first tracker.

b) In the tracker box add your new tracker url. This url is often called ‘your personal announce url’ on the tracker’s upload page. The tracker you add should be the ONLY tracker listed. If there are any other trackers listed you must delete them.

c) Check ‘Private Torrent’ and uncheck ‘Start Seeding’

Now for the most important part. You have to set the piece size to something other than what you noted in the original torrent.

d) Beside ‘Piece Size’ click on the drop box and choose the piece size either above or below that of the original torrent. DO NOT leave this field set to auto detect. You must choose a unique piece size in order for the torrent file you create to have a different hash.

e) Now click ‘Create and save as’ and save in either a different location or with a different name. DO NOT overwrite the original .torrent file.

In my example the original piece size was 32kB so I chose a piece size of 16kB.

STEP 3: Upload Your New Torrent And check that it is listed separately in uTorrent

Following standard uploading protocol, upload your newly created .torrent file to the second tracker. Once you are seeding check that you have a unique hash for each tracker.

Below you see both the original and edited torrent files listed. The piece size and hash file of the edited are indeed different than the original. If you click on the tracker tab for each torrent you will see that you are seeding to the two different trackers independently with no danger of ratio cheating.
