    Default High Level Uploading

After a discussion in the irc I've decided to make this guide, it is quite temperamental and applies in certain circumstances, but some may find it useful.

This is the situation I'm in, I have a 80GB seedbox for all my trackers, I do no torrenting from my home connection, I am a member of higher level trackers that are hard to seed in this is what I did to get a good ratio on 2 of them:

Searching through the torrents on waffles I wanted to find a torrent that I could seed that would make a large difference to my ratio, of course freeleech torrents are a must, but every other seedbox owner for miles knows about them, what you want to aim for is to be the only seedbox in the swarm, the torrent must be large enough too the actually make a difference, I chose the 4GB OSX, not even music but damn popular, I uploaded 100GB within a matter of weeks, now I have to warn you this torrent has died down recently and even if it hadn't if all you swarmed on it you would ruin it for each other, you have to find your own niche.
On TL I found another golden torrent "Worms 4 Mayhem" I've uploaded 90% of my total upload with this 1.5GB file.

Now there are lots of other tactics (many of which I use) but here's one, it got me in the top 100 list on waffles mabe it will to you too!

Well I agree with you on waffle unless you are the only seedbox user it is no good..1GB buffer is nothing....Well getting to know what file you should download is tough but Normally it's a matter of luck and also if you keep watching the snatched list you can get the idea of any tracker like what users actually like...
in some tracker you may have noticed that Tv series like chuck, heroes get a lot of snatches but they are mostly on all seedbox..but for seedbox user we can get our up easily....

the only tracker I feel the uploading is tough other then the ratiofree I'm on is waffle...most of you have got enough upload on WHAT by now..he he

so for waffle use this trick try to see the patten how the regular habits are and remember waffle is awesome and you can get upload on old file...when I first joined I just use to snatch the new torrent and after some hour I use to delete it which made my ratio go like 1.xxx then When I checked the old torrent I have downloaded I saw that there are still leeches on them and i could have uploaded a lot more...so that now I have some month old torrent which get snatched from time to time <3 waffle...

oh and some torrent are obvious like windows 7 theme we all know it's a hit..ha ha so just a little precaution and you are ready for the job...remember the seedbox user normally won't seed for long time so old torretns are always ratio-booster but they should be good files...he he

I'm not sure exactly what this tutorial is suggesting, that we find a torrent and seed it? I'm pretty sure that's the name of the game. You don't seem to be suggesting that we download "OSX" or "Worms 4 Mayhem". do what exactly are you trying to teach?

LoL it was about the idea of getting a torrent which don't have much seeders and the one which are there are not having box.. ;) so for new users who I have seen have problem with there ratio on waffle mostly it's a thing to read...As most of us think it's only musuc which can get you up on ratio there....but it's not that...you can hardly seed a music torrent to ratio of 2-3 with the box..unless it's really famous...

Sorry to be clueless, but I am with VectorKing in that I still don't understand what the tutorial is conveying. I get a general sense that we are to look for torrents where there are few seeders and I think the idea is that there are no other seedbox seeders for these torrents? Is that right? And, if so, how do we identify torrents that can be exploited with this strategy?

Moo, can you provide some additional clarity to help me out?

It's as forbidden said, I knew this was going to be hard lol, you need to get a torrent that ordinary people get for the content not for seeding, perhaps they wont even bother uploading at all.

Worms has been downloaded 2820 times and there are currently 20 uploaders and 2 downloaders, I am pretty sure I am the only one, or one of 2, seedboxers.

Basically if you cant see a peer list (where you just look for libtorrent) look for torrents that have few seeders, many hits and you think those hits weren't in the first day of uploading, ie the file isn't hugely popular.

No offense, but there should be a tutorial for writing tutorials.

Some things I would suggest to improve your tutorial:
    1. Remove all words that do not have a straightforward position. Don't use words like "pretty sure, think, maybe" or any word that make it seem like you are not sure about what you are talking about.
    2. Use capitalization and punctuation correctly. It is pretty fundamental.
    3. Use Images(if possible) to convey the location.
    4. Don't get too personal with the reader.
    i.e.

Do not say this. This is not part of the tutorial, and it teaches nothing.

Promptly state the objective of your tutorial, and the steps to achieve it. Writing about how you have a seedbox, how you do not seed at home, and how you have a good ratio does not help the reader at all.

The basic premise is that most seedbox users constantly switch out old torrents for new ones for short term gains. Ignoring lucky sobs with unlimited high bandwidth home connections, moo's tip is to go for torrents that you think the users want for the content and not to just boost their ratios.

So, he suggests you first get a feel for the tracker. A tracker's user base tends to have certain preferences. Some like certain music, some like certain movies, some like content that's way out in left field. Basically figure out those preferences and pick from those torrents to boost your own ratio. Hard to describe specific tracker behaviors, but if you pay attention to torrent stats, it's not hard to pick up a general feel. Trackers that also list connected peers and their stats make it even easier.

Of the torrents you choose, he advises you find one that's less likely to have a seedbox on it. These are usually the old torrents with a few seeders and not many leechers. The assumption is the other seeders are seeding from slower home connections to either boost bonus credits, avoid hit and run, or just too lazy to turn off finished torrents. So, with you as the only high speed seeder, every time a new leech comes across the torrent you're seeding, almost all the upload will be from you.

Instead of constantly downloading new torrents then seeding them back along with all the other seedboxes on the tracker, you download a few torrents and seed them back several times over. If you do it right, instead of constantly changing torrents and netting a 1.X ratio, you download less but upload a larger fraction long term. Thus, you boost your ratio over time instead of playing with the big boys on every new torrent that comes along.

    Very nicely said.
However I think(I am assuming) that what VectorKing, Forbidden, Rellik and I were trying to do was improve Moo's original post so that newer members of this forum would easily understand the tutorial.

Exactly what I was trying to say, it's dam hard to describe getting the feel of a tracker in a tutorial.

Yes this is an unusual tutorial, it isn't in the usual format and could be improved this is why I was unsure about whether to actually do it, I knew a discussion like this would happen as it doesn't take you through step by step, this is because there isn't a step by step method to do this. The bit stating my situation is to help people see where this will work.

    About my capitalisation and punctuation:

As you are being picky "Capitalization" and "Punctuation" should not have capitals at the start as they aren't proper nouns, and "It is pretty fundamental." isn't a sentence. I see no problem with my grammar, (my spelling will be different as I'm English).
