This 'trick' is completely counter intuitive. A seeder is part of the swarm. If you have all parts of the torrent, you'll have the potential to seed more, not less.
I agree. It's totally logical, if u have all parts your more likely to share more.

Huh?? So you're saying that if you're only seeding you're not part of the swarm? Then you shouldn't be uploading anything if you're only seeding and not part of the swarm. Everyone knows that's false. The whole premise of this thread is flawed. Do have any clue as to what you're talking about?

A mod should really delete this thread since it's just giving incorrect and bad information.

he's sort of right tho, i sometimes get better up speeds while im still downloading the file....but once my file finishes, BOMM! my speed drops and utorrent starts looking for peers who seem to just randomly pop in and randomly pop out! so my up speed when still downloading would remain constant (and high), but once it finishes, it fluctuates constantly between 0kb and my max speed

its the fluctuation and the disappearing leechers that annoy me, but i've grown used to the fact now.....still it is as someone has already said, it is best to download the file super fast, then share all those golden torrent pieces u have to as many people as possible :)

Have you ever thought this might be due to the fact that your not the only one who's finished downloading, but as in most torrents a whole bunch of people finish at roughly the same time? It would seem like a far more plausible explanation for your observation than the completely illogical idea that having less of a torrent will garner you greater upload.

    I’ll give it a try.
But when I have ratio problems I prefer to cross-seed torrents. I DL from a tracker where I have a good ratio and seed it in the tracker I have lower one. Of course, it works better with new files

I'm not so sure. On the contrary i find that if I am downloading anything the rest of the uploads suffer. Whyn this should be, I haven't a clue. BUt in theory this could work for others.

I tried this a few times with BT 7.2.1 and my ul decreased proportionately.

    what i mostly do is
Get on a fresh torrent and if its split in multiple files via rar then download a few of them in like 1 hrs or less (depends on the size of the torrents mostly, if its over 20 gb will leech longer) and then will stop the leeching to seed it a fullspeed.

The above trick is for when i get on a new tracker, which seldom is the case these days.....

The best way to download any music tracker is to seed fresh torrent. That's what i have done and it's easy to seed.
