    Default SCC mIRC Auto-Download Script & WebUI

    Since I had the time, I decided to make this tutorial. It may not be clear enough to some and might be fine to others. Please don't PM me requesting help. There's a thread at SCC where you can request help for this.

    So, you need mIRC, uTorrent and a seedbox. (Not sure how to do it on home computer, so don't ask me!)

    Open uTorrent and go to Options -> Preferences -> UI Settings.
    - Uncheck "Show a window that displays the files inside the torrent."
    - Uncheck "Activate the program window."

    Now go to Options -> Preferences -> Directories.
    - Set a directory for "Put new downloads in:" (eg. C:\Users\xxx\Downloads)
    - Uncheck "Always show dialog on manual add."

    You can get the script here. (Uploaded by dashboardy at SCC.)

    Once you've finished downloading the script, unRAR/ZIP it. Once you open up "scc.ini," it should look like this:

    *NOT MY PASSKEY!

    Get your passkey from here. Click on any box, web/download link and "Generate RSS link." (Copy the string of numbers/letters after the =. Remember that this is PERSONAL, don't show it to others.)

    *As a safety precaution, I changed the http:// to hxxp:// to avoid SCC from knowing you got redirected from here to there and disabling your account. It may be that this can't occur, but I don't want be held responsible for whatever may happen.

    Now, let me explain what to put where:

    This is how to layout the categories underneath the settings.

    Apps/PC ISO
    ; this will download everything in the Apps/PC ISO section.
    [Apps/PC_ISO]
    filters=*
    Games/PC ISO
    ; this will download everything in the GAMES/PC ISO section.
    [GAMES/PC_ISO]
    filters=*
    *I had to put the _'s because it wouldn't work with a space for me.

    I don't know about the filters, so I can't help out with that. It's the same for every category at SCC, just be sure to add the appropriate category to "scc.ini" and save it.

    This is how it's supposed to look now. (NOT necessarily like this, it's just an example.):

    Go to "Computer," type this in "%appdata%/mIRC" and create a new folder called "torrents."

    Start up mIRC, connect to SCC's IRC and the announce channel. Type in

    /load -rs scc.txt
    Wait for a torrent to be announced in a category you chose and go to your box's WebUI and see your torrent begin leeching/seeding.

    I hope this tutorial is a bit clearer than the one at SCC and that problems you encountered with their tutorial is gone after reading this one. Enjoy!

    Nice tutorial, I'll get around to having a play with this later on tonight.

    Does anyone have any suggestions for filters?

    ive used this for a while now and it works great! it can also be modified for other trackers with announce channels if you know a little about coding.

    As for filters, depends on the seedbox's hard drive space. you can set it to all archive and mp3/0day as there freeleech, however it sucks up a lot of HDD space very fast. you get the best upload off the bigger packs in archive so if you have to pick id start there. other than that, filter out the high downloaded stuff in the normal browse section such as the popular tv shows or movies coming out soon.

    i went through the same issues when i got my dedi box. it came with rtorrent but it was more or less useless. instead i installed everything on my own from scratch, put on wine + utorrent and have been very happy with it.
