Thread: HOW TO- Ways to increase your ratio.

1. Choose something to seed wisely! When you decide to seed something, check how many leechers there are on that torrent. It won't do you much good at all to seed something that has only 10 leechers, but something with 100+ leechers will gurantee that you will be uploading as fast as your connection will allow.

2. Make sure that you are connecting as fast as you can. Make sure you are not firewalled and have all your ports forwarding correctly.

3. You don't have to download the entire torrent to increase your ratio. Try just grabbing a couple rars and setting the rest so they dont download. This way, your download amount wont be hit that bad, but you can upload those couple files that you do have to many people. Many people have said that doing this with the sample clip found in most movies works very well.



4. Limit your download speed while you get a file. Just because you can download at 400k/s doesnt mean you should! For those of you (and I know there are a lot) that have slower upload speeds than download speeds, try slowing down your download speed so it is closer to the speed you upload at. It is much easier to keep your ratio intact when your ratio for the file is 0.7 or greater when you are done downloading it.

yea that is a good way but i just love to download normally what i wanna download and than leave uloading all i have. i allways have few torrents from same tracker uploading

This could be a good tip, but you will have to watch out for partial seeders, certainly on bigger multiple file torrents. Most people can't afford to download it in one time so they only partially download what's inside and when they have more buffer they start downloading the rest.
Or they don't download all, they just get out what they need and start uploading that without downloading anything more ever. And since they haven't completed downloading all the files in the torrent they are registered as leechers while they are actually only seeding the torrent. Leaving you just with some extra download without the ability to upload what you have got.

If your in a non general tracker, I recommend to follow the release dates of different products/shows etc. Downloading and seeding new popular content is a very nice way of gaining ratio.

I do not think that in such a way it is possible to increase speed. The truth, seems to me it is ridiculous

I usually just find the one with the most seeders, download the sample and set it to upload over night :)
