pebbles, a good tutorial with lots of good tips. But it was obviously written with public trackers in mind.
And since most T-I members use private trackers, it was important to point out that enabling the DHT/peer settings could easily get someone banned at their tracker(s). Apart from that though, good advice.
Perhaps another setting to discuss at more length is the encryption choice. As many ISPs throttle bittorrent connections these days, changing the encryption setting to "forced" and unchecking legacy connections will often provide a 100%+ speed boost because the ISP (typically) won't see the traffic as bittorrent anymore.
There is a theoretical concern that the occasional swarm client may not be able to connect in this case, but I've never seen that actually happen in practice and the speed boost is gratifying if your ISP is one that has been throttling torrent traffic.
