I have heard many news about P2P recently, but this one really stood out. A client that is still in development, has been confirmed to be able to use P2P technology, without the need of a BitTorrent site. Aswell as this, the files you swap using this client can be moderated in the same way as BitTorrent sites.
Users will be able to be a lot more personal on this client. For example, good users will be rewarded with fast download speeds, where as bad users will have their download speeds cut. Users will also be able to increase download speed for people of their choice, such as friends.
Torrent Freak claimed that on first impression, that this system works seamlessly. There is obviously a lack of data travelling between such technologies, but due it's supirior security this will probably change quite quick. This client has been branded as 'A True P2P Client'.
All this means that users will be able to get .torrent files off other peers, rather than centralized sites.
This exellent client? It's called 'Tribler'. Here is a link to their site -
www.tribler.org
Tribler has been around for a while actually, they have already researched new algorithms & BitTorrent streaming. Although, I think we all agree, that their latest project is the most interesting.
So a future of a more secure P2P system sounds promising. But people like us are going to have to support it by using it & uploading to it to keep it going & keeping it updated. That's the bottom line. I really hope this project's prosperity is rapdily increased in the near future.
