I think that the trackers is over reacting on something that would eventual bring everybody a better ratio due to the fact that you can keep seeding all the time without pausing when using the network for other things

Better network management results in less throttling, and that's a good thing in anyone's book.
I totally agree, i mean why discourage further development by banning the software??
If anything they should ban everything else so we can start using the features like uTP (that may be exaggerating a bit, but i still think that it's stupid to ban it all together)

I do agree with this decision, because imagine seedbox users using this new version of utorrent, that's like increasing your seeding chances/priorities exponentially, however, the only thing that I see that would make me switch to 2.0 is the fact that it says it doesn't require port-forwarding to use the webUI. I have no problems when it comes to seeding with utorrent, however I can not get the webUI to work no matter how hard I try, so I have to use LogMeIn to access my utorrent. So if utorrent comes out with a new version that is acceptable on all the trackers, then I'd be all over it. Until then, I'll just stick with version 1.8.5

then i got the banned client message from bitme :\

hopefully this gets cleared up soon. otherwise i'll probably reinstall an earlier version

I would agree why ban something for the greater good but most of the sites that I am on have not actually banned it they are evaluating it so time will tell forsure. If they do ban it then really if you think of it they should ban a seedbox because that gives an unfair advantage to people too lol not a chance to ever get rid of my seedbox

Great post as usual thanks again for the info

Man my english was brutal on that post glad it is late and I had the chance to edit it hehehehehe

Are there any other trackers which ban uTorrent 2.0? I think I'll wait for the test result before I chose to install previous version..

I highly doubt that any tracker will ban uTorrent 2.0 outright. As was already pointed out, uTorrent is the most widely used client among members of private trackers.

Its already banned at a number of trackers, and has not been allowed at a number of others BitMe/TV to name a couple.

The reasons that some trackers are giving is a bit ridiculous at the moment; saying that utorrent2.0 gives advantages to its users when connecting to other 2.0 users, so its unfair. To me this seems completely stupid as private trackers are not about equality if they were then seedboxes wouldn't be allowed!

I concur, I'm surprised people still use things aside from Utorrent; it's simply the best. If everyone used Utorrent then it would be beneficial to everyone. If people make the switch it's a win-win situation, no more whining about fairness because there would be fewer compatibility issues and we all get better speeds.

Well, I think utorrent is in its declining phase.
utorrent 1.6.1 was the best. The last good release was utorrent 1.8.5
But sadly, after that we get utorrent2.0, which is a banned client in almost all the private tracker
    :(
    sad!

Almost all private trackers? I don't know what your talking about cause almost all my private trackers allow Utorrent 2.0 except for Bitme and BMTV... what.cd, waffles and PTP even recommend it.
