The thing with all of these tracker shut downs is that all of em were the result of poor management, and not legal pressures.

I don't mean to speak ill of anyone or any tracker in particular, but UK-T goes down cuz of selling bootlegs? That didn't have to involve the tracker. FTWR goes down cuz they didn't have a current back up; again not related to anti priacy groups. The SCT shut down was highly speculative, but I believe the general consensus is that the operator(s) came into some legal trouble and the shutdown was not a result of antipiracy pressure. CoR is is shutting it's doors for what seems like lack of interest from the BT community and PEG is not likely to stay around because they couldn't get off the ground.



It's sad to see trackers go, but it could have been avoided; I would rather these sites go down for silly reasons rather than legal threats. It means that so far the only real major casualty of the antipiracy war is TPB.

well as a ex wheelemod for over 4 years and closer to five I was a member of the old site befor the hidden page all I can say is the server was wiped to protect us and unfortunaltly many of us can not prove our stats to the new levell 10 which has to be fsc. I was also a member of sct which was not as high or secure but did however exit the net with a better stratage my proofs are intact as well as when you go to most irc with your user name a admi will pull your user info so props to sct for that as uk have left a few of us hannging just look at mt request on here it still hasny been answered for fsc and probs never will despite being a member from the time the site went down the first time...

and that's not all. just like on ScT some staffers had been arrested. they had to close. nothing voluntarily there.

I just read somewhere on the interwebz that the **-* closing down was not due to a staffer selling pirated dvd's... mentioned legal troubles... they were always under scrutiny, even before they became **-*, they were always under the lens. this bit came from a staffer none the less...

yes, the were but on the other hand you can't take for granted that that what a staffer said is true either

OK I've just heard that this story isn't true, and that they closed for a different reason. I'm not sure about the details yet though.

I'm sure AM has done enough in-depth research to back everything he says. If he says this is what happened then i believe him
