I now loath Anti P2P to a new level....
That is most certainly the first thought that came through my mind when I heard about this. It seems The Performing Rights Society in the UK has been hard at work capturing serious hardened criminals - Playschools.
A £3000 bill will be slapped on The Yoker Resource Center if they continue their actions. Have they been using Pirate Bay or something? No. They were watching legal DVDs & listening to legal CDs. They have a legal TV licence, but under this threat they can't even watch TV that they paid for. Oh, & kids singing carols to the public in playschools is now also a piracy crime. No seriously.
They have paid for their DVD. But now they are saying that isn't enough. Last week Torrent Freak reported how the MPLC illegally requested money from a Irish playschool for playing DVDs.
In Sweden, a kid's show have been giving propaganda messages across, that downloading media off the net is morally wrong. Kids were interviewed in the show, then told that the artists needed paying.
Here is a actual quote from the show -
"But I think you really need to remember that this is illegal and that the police are watching this now.”
That is the sort of threats interviewers used against the Swedish children who admitted to downloading in the show. Should this sort of propaganda be on children's TV?
This is a new generation of Anti P2P as far as I am concerned. The type that is trying to hammer their words into kids. The type that won't allow people to listen to radio in work in a public place. The type that makes people pay for things multiple times.
A new generation of Anti P2P needs a new generation of pirates.... I know who's side I'm on.
