Halloween, a night when young children demand goods from complete strangers, theatening some sort of retailiation if the demands are not met. A night when hot girls dressed as slutty whatevers roam the bars and nightclubs, doing what they do. A night for torrenting. It seems our trackers have not forgotten you lucky people. Several are offering treats for their users on or around the night of ghouls and ghosts.

Halloween, a night when young children demand goodies from complete strangers, threatening some sort of retaliation if the demands are not met. A night when hot girls dressed as slutty whatevers roam the bars and nightclubs, doing what they do. A night for torrenting. It seems our trackers have not forgotten you lucky people. Several are offering treats for their users on or around the night of ghouls and ghosts.

Torrent-Damage is holding a ratio building event. From 11:00 p.m. (23:00) GMT on Friday to 11:00 p.m. GMT on Sunday November 8th, users will be able to download at half the cost and upload at 1.5 times the credit. What does this mean? If you download 175 MB file, TD will only charge 87.5 MB to your download total. If you then seed that file to 100%, TD will credit your upload total with 262.5 MB. When you crunch the numbers, you'd end up with a 3.0 ratio at TD for that 175 MB file. Oh, but it gets even better. Over the last few days, their uploaders have been stockpiling some primo stuff. That plus some some scary movies they've had tucked away in a drawer somewhere should all be uploading today. All in all, users should have plenty of opportunity to build their ratios.

Pass the Popcorn is offering freeleech on any of their movies in their Horror category. During freeleech, users are not charged for the download, but still receive credit for the upload. The event lasts from today until 11/01/09.

Fux0r is saying thank you to its users and donors by offering a surprise freeleech. Apparently for the entire site. Get your *wha-chicka-wha-wah* on until midnight, October 31st

Not exactly a Halloween event, but worth a mention here, SceneRace is freeleeching now until November 22. That's right, ScR is offering the entire site for a month. Otto's back doing his thing, too.

Do you know of any more? Be sure to post them in the comments. Make sure someone else hasn't already posted the same event, and include the name of the tracker, what they're offering, and how long it lasts.

Special events are a tracker's way of thanking its community. Be a good member of your community and seed as much as you can. When it comes down to it, torrenting is about sharing and paying it forward.
