    PEGWorld Cuts Off Invites

Let's say that you're a brand new baby tracker, still blinking as you step into the sun. Now you know that you need to get some users and get them soon. So you give 60 invites to each of your users so their friends can join. Not 10 or 20; no, 60 invites. 60 invites screams, "Give these away!" Users were probably handing them out free with each PM.

But yesterday PegWorld threw on the (emergency) brake. Users who were seeing 60, 50, 40, etc. invites now have zero. Zilch. Nada. Some users believed this to be some sort of punishment. But no. Admins posted that invites were zeroed out universally amongst users. To be fair, invites can still be had; but they must now be requested. All of this could mean that PEGW has a good-sized user base and is now really starting to build its tracker. New features such as Karma points are said to be coming online soon. And right now, PEGW doesn't care about ratios, so users are free to leech the entire site.

PEGW may be poised to become a mid to high level tracker. They are actively searching for uploaders, even offering to pay for choice uploads. Time will tell whether the upstart tracker thrives or dies in this robust tracker world.

And I'm sure this is going to go down well with certain authorities.

Paying people to upload goes against the grain of torrenting in my books.

Well, I'll tell you, it ain't a lot of money; and it's a per-torrent fee. They're not asking for specific uploads. But it is one more incentive for people to upload to the site. It shows they are taking an active role in improving the tracker. I doubt this will last forever, but everybody has to start from somewhere.

BTW, thanks to realitythief for breaking this story.

It's on the right track , doing what they should do to become a high or mid level tracker . Is the userbase big enough now ? or they are going to hand ot invites some time soon ?

I think ( waiting ) for a tracker to be better is not the right choice , ppl on new trackers hardly leeching or making any activity are harmful to the quality of the tracker , use it if u want it to grow .
