Default IPT - Planning on enforcing HnR rules

    Hi team.

I spoke to Microsoft and we will be working on a new code. Hit and runners will be given warnings via PM and maybe even 1-2 week warnings if they hit and run.

They will be told to reseed properly or else they can lose their accounts. That should increase the number of seeders.
He will start coding today and we will be testing it for a few weeks then bring it on IPT.

As for people who seed till they have 1:1 ratio, those will not be warned, even if they stop seeding a few minutes after they finish downloading.
Seedbox users do that to have more free space for new content. If we tell them to seed till they have a 1:1 ratio and 24h seeding time, they might not like it and leave.

I will keep you all updated as things progress.

    Regards
    Rok3r

I've always assumed that discouraging HnRs was the policy of most if not all private trackers. After a quick browse through IPT's Rules and FAQ, I couldn't find any information regarding seed times or HnRs! (only a required ratio)
It's about time IPT moved in this direction! It's a great tracker and it looks to be a favorite amongst the Demonoid refugees. Time to tighten up the ship!

By 1:1 ratio, does this mean anyone whose account has more uploaded than downloaded in general won't be affected, or just specific torrents that download more than upload will send a PM? I know I would feel like a jerk if I didn't give more than I get.

The policy is enforced on a torrent by torrent basis.

I hope they won't follow GFT on their stupid rule "download a byte, share a byte"

I'm totally on board with the new HnR policy. I just wonder if IPT has experienced a recent membership growth right after demonoid's takedown.
