Thread: IPT: The Invite System Has Been Changed

So much for having the word Power before user now! But Great news none the less. (This is what i call a stunner!!! )

I don't understand why you all see this as a great move. They could reduce the invites that power users get or perhaps create a new user class that qualifies for a couple of invites per month or something. Making invites only available to their stuff and uploaders and then basically you have to pay to get invites or pay to create an account is the exact opposite of what our torrent "world" is about.

Agree that to be listed in the elite tracker list, invites and signup must be strictened. But atleast don't insult the power user by taking away all the invites. Make it 1/month. Also increase ratio rules and other rules for becoming a power user.

They need to make a system for trading bonus points for invites?

Staff has mentioned that they want to prevent cheaters/scammers into the site and hence no invite to PU. They will hand out invites to members who contribute to the site in forums. I would rather have 1tb limit for PU with 1 invite/month, than no invites for PU class. Another way could have been by limiting the maximum number of users , when there are vacant seats , you can send an invite - like PTP.

PS: IPT staff don't want you to sell their invites ,but they allow trading them (right from IPT sysop's post) :/
