Thread: BCG Back - Sort Of...

First of all I would like to thank our hosts and askew1 for getting us back up, the hosts are 8 hours behind me, and my PC is in the Bedroom = Wife turns it off when she goes to bed = I havnt been able to do anything.

Server move, 4400KM, our servers were OK, others got a bit damaged in transit, we came back up.

Our set up was wierd to say the least, We have 2 chassis, with 2 servers in each chassis, but we were only using 2, the problem was, we were using one in one chassis and one in the other chassis.

The hosts changed the hard drives so both were in the same chassis, but they got Kernal errors, tried to put the HDD back in to the original case, Kernal errors. The Hosts managed to back everything up with a docking station, well Database and the web side, they didnt back up the XBTT tracker or IRC though.

They then formatted the HDDs, and updated the OS as the one we had on was about 3-5 years old, reinstalled everything but we had errors with the innodb database tables, but luckily askew1 managed to sabe them and get the site back online.



XBTT/Ocelotte (we may try ocelotte instead but if its too much work, we will just go with XBTT) wasnt backed up, and we have changed it slightly, so we have to reinstall it, and change it like it was. Same with IRC/Bots we had, hopefully if all goes well, they should both be up tonight/tomorrow morning, if not it may take a bit longer.

But at least we are sort of back now just a couple more things and it should be fine.

Wow, so that's why they were down for so long..

I gave up this tracker already, but I'm glad they are back.

i heard they werent gonna have any invites... true?
