Thanks for bearing with us through the blackout against SOPA. The bill has been withdrawn for now, butthe fight is not over! So stay vigilant and get involved. Let your representatives know that protecting the free flow of information is more important than protecting the entertainment industry's outdated business model.

The new Encoding Support forum has been quite popular, but not everyone wants to learn how to encode. So today we would like to highlight a few other things you can do to make TC a better place, while gaining upload credit in the process!

1. Add mediainfo to existing torrents. There are still a few thousand torrents that lack mediainfo output; those torrents break the consistency of how we like to display things, and they are lacking in relevant information (example here). If some of your snatches are missing mediainfo output, help us out and you'll be rewarded with upload credit. With this announcement, we are increasing the reward to 1 GB for each output you provide!

2. Upload your first torrent to TC. You'll discover how easy it is to contribute, and you'll get 10 GB for doing so!

3. Upload a quality encode. We take great pride in our focus on quality, so whether you encode something yourself or get it from another source, you can be rewarded for adding quality content to the site.

4. Fill some requests. Your personal DVD collection, your local library, and the free trials available from Blockbuster and Netflix should make DVDR requests particularly easy to fill. And if you have access to other sources of film content, you can check those to see if they have what users here are looking for. There is a total of about 32 TB of request bounty available for the taking!
