Our hosts are moving datacenters just after the new year, so they are taking all the servers with them, the planned move is going to start 2nd January 2012 and is expected to be completed by the 5th-6th Jan 2012.

Now we do not expect to be down that long, as they are planning replication and other fancy stuff with our servers (too much to go into here), but at the very best, we will have a new IP and there will be a couple of hours downtime and DNS issues for a couple of days.



So if we go down between the 2nd Jan and the 6th Jan you know why, we will be back up, but how long we will be down for I have no idea, but hopefully if everything goes as planned, it will not be 3-4 days, it will just be a matter of a few hours max (we hope).

Actually,

I would prefer them to be down for a couple days and get everything up and running smoothly afterwards, without too many bugs and glitches, instead of being back after just one day, but with all kinds of peculiar occurrences. "Good" is nearly always better than "quick".

i think this is one of those cases where "quick" is better than "good".

This would be quite debating but many trackers have been updating there sites an moving to there datacenters, fixing bugs (v2,v3,etc) so its best that did that to.
We can wait till they come back- - atleast i can
Better be safe and take some time then to be sorry by being "quick".

The same thing is happening as we speak with what.cd too. I just hope that they actually do come back lol.

Does anyone know if this update has been completed, still unable to access the site, want to make sure its not just me.
