it was not a good tracker a lot of dead torrents and noting unique there you can found the same music on other music trackers yes it was ratio-free but not much torrents...

Well considering the increased activity from world governments it is not surprising to see a lot of trackers folding this year. I mean personally I don't blame any of them for doing so. Yeah it's sad to see them go but that's life. When one closes 2 more open (well more than 2 in this world).

Real shame to see this place go though. Especially considering how it went out with hackers. :-(

I disagree strongly Specialized. Yeah it had a lot of dead torrents but seriously name me any tracker that doesn't have a lot of dead torrents. Hell even the mighty F*N has a large number of dead torrents. What made the tracker good was the community. When I first got into private trackers this place was my only source for music. I didn't have Waffles or What and they were good for me and I would assume a lot of others as well who were new to this world.

To you it may have been a worthless tracker but to others it may have be a home away from home thanks to the great staff and community.

well, it's not weird at all that they weren't going to "re-boot" the tracker after the hackers foul play. lots of dead torrents mixed with lots of inactivity equals no funds/no interest in keeping the tracker combative with other music trackers. though it's still sad to see a well designed tracker to go belly up. you can't imagine how few good looking trackers there are in the assortment .

    Bye Bye CE

Sorry sir but I have to disagree strongly with you on this. CE was community based but never was it a dazzlingly good community. In fact, CE had one of the most dead communities I've ever seen. The forums were always a dead zone, the irc had its moments in the beginning but those fell off a few months in as well.

I was with CE from the beginning. Watching something that had so much promise (I liked it over SqN if anyone remembers that) wither away into a shell of its former self was not easy at all. I donated when they needed it & tried my hardest to get the "community" back on its feet again.

Don't get me wrong, CE had its usual characters but what tracker community doesn't? It's a shame that I can count on one hand the amount of active forum & IRC users CE had.

I remember much earlier this year that the staff there were reluctant to open sign ups due to "privacy concerns" & they swore up and down that they weren't trying to be 'l33t' - now I don't know everything but I know bullshit when I see it. This was one of the main issues with CE. Keeping the tracker's head above water with competitions didn't really help because there was nobody there to participate. When invites were handed out there was no demand for them. When they finally decided to open signups (after me constantly insisting they do so) that didn't go over well either. Had the elite complex not bitten CE I think it would have done OK for what it was.

Oh my, this turned out to be far longer than I had anticipated. Long story short, this "community" that you speak of was non-existent. Anyone thinking otherwise is sadly mistaken...

To Enigma78 tracker was dead before this happend there was still a few users that come to check out the site but it has no activity at all even staff know it they post a poll of if the users are still alive like (are you still here do you still visit CE) forums have 0 posts/day and torrents nothing no new uploads old torrents 0 seeders and i know that other trackers have also dead torrents but here it was just too much... I really won't miss it even through i have been really active in the past there and i think they never got monthly 100% donations and that's say someting about tracker. I know that it was ok before the conversion to gazelle but after that it got only worse. Well we still have libble.me that is way more successful tracker that CE was... Libble have more torrents and it's also ratio-free like CE was...
