Launching a debate – public torrent sites vs. private torrent sites – is not the purpose of this post although the topic will be addressed in a future article but for those somewhat familiar with file-sharing, it’s common knowledge that private torrent trackers easily are superior to public torrent trackers due to good seeding and faster download of latest torrent files.
However, getting into such sites can be most of the times not an easy task. Yet some private torrent tracker sites are indeed open for registration every month or, at least, periodically. Moreover, if your seeding has a good level then you can also request for invitational code from other torrent members.

Below we list some of the most useful and popular private torrent sites around:

1. HDBits.org
One of the best BitTorrent trackers on the Web, focused mainly on HD content. This is probably the toughest tracker invite to obtain on the net.

2. FTN
Here comes another highly exclusivist torrent site. This one focuses on 0day releases, with great pre-times. It doesn’t have a ratio system but provides very large movie packs. Membership in this community is capped at 6k members and staff gives invites to their respected members.

3. TT
TT is definitely the best private music tracker on the Web. Here you can find all genres of trance music from house, hardcore, funk, ambient, to electric, electronic dance. It’s pretty hard to “get your hands” on a TT invite.

4. BCG
BCG is for gamers what TT is for music lovers. It comes with tones of seeders, impressive content and an excellent Seed Points system. The site includes a recycled system, where old torrents are moved onto the front page, which means they can live on for much longer than most other trackers retention spans.



5. BITME
OK, with Bitme.org you get the best e-learning source in terms of torrent files. It has 20k members and provides a wide range of categories including Religion, Art, Math, 3D, Dating, Audio, AppDev, CBT, DIY, Music Learning, Sports and more.

6. CN
This one deals mainly with movies and is pretty selective with regard to its members – their recent IRC invite questioner alone requires 4 torrent tracker screenshot profiles.

7. SCC
Without a doubt one of the fastest scene only 0day release private trackers around. It offers amazing pre-times and loads (over 30k) of free leech torrents mostly comprised of MP3/0Day & Archive releases. If you are an SCC member you can donate, basically acquiring upload credits.

8. TL
Torrentleech is hugely popular and offers a variety of content from movies, music, software/games, to E-books, TV shows, and cartoons (no adult material, however). It has around 190k members and 30k indexed torrents. It also comes with excellent pre-times on 0day torrents and especially non scene releases. VIPs receive invites now and then.

9. BitmeTV
As its name suggest this tracker is specialized on TV shows; it packs in over 18k torrents and over 20k members, with a 25k member limit. BitmeTV is a wonderful source for pre-times and has a great community with quite non-dictatorial seeding rules.

10. GFT
A very resourceful torrent site with fast release times. It doesn’t have a ratio system and only uploads are counted. You can find films, apps, games, E-books, TV shows, cartoons/animation and xxx content.

its very difficult to write a review of a tracker sittin outside for the doors to open or atleast a window to sneak in. nonetheless private trackers rock

Why no IPT, BTN or What.cd?

This is obviously a flawed review. As Pair_of_Duck mentioned... how does TT trump What.cd? Or BMTV over BTN? Or even CN over PTP... I'm not sure what their criteria is for 'popular', but it seems like the writer of this list doesn't know very much about the scene

... maybe he didn't mention What.cd because he was afraid of getting his account disabled

I got excited/curious when I saw the title of the post, but there is no reasoning or justification for the "top 10", it is just a listing of 10 trackers somebody arbitrarily came up with. Some of these have like 5k users, how is that considered popular when others have like 100k users?

When talking about popularity, mininova/demonoid/thepiratebay would have to be on the list because everybody in the BTT community knows of them.

Im just member of 1 of those.
