NO GA's
I won't be replying to PM's
I've got a Sammy 2TB in my computer, and it's been a good drive for the time I've had it. For the price:reliability ratio, I'll be buying more.
4TB seems excessive, and I can only imagine how latencies will go up as platters increase in size and number. I'll stick to my 2-platters, thank ya :P

my mouth is watery right now, cant wait. WD will come out with one eventually
I hope they come soon, even if I could buy two 2TB drives and configure them in raid0 and it would probably cost a lot less. It's just that 4TB taking two slots in my computer just doesn't seem enough knowing how much pirating consumes hard drive space.
On the other hand, there are not many things that require such huge hard drives yet, but the biggest thing I've seen on sale is the Vienna Symphonic Library. The full edition sound library consist of 750GB of samples. This is also where raid0 configurations comes in handy as you don't want the system to load those samples for many minutes. This product, from what I remember, costs about ten grand. I actually downloaded the entire giga version from years back, and it's just a modest 250GB. That one already is rather uncomfortable to load into RAM, I can tell you.
It's good to see the density increasing, but you will always pay a premium for being an early adopter. Most people would be better served, at least in terms of cost by going with two 2 or 3 TB drives. In North America, you can buy an external 3 TB/USB 3 drive for $100 - 150 and internal drives are of course less.

4TB!? i need buy *-*
New link, toshiba is working on 5tb hard drives using a new technology called HAMR (heat-assisted magnetic recording) Is hard disk drive areal density fatally limited?
The 4tb drive has arrived!!!!!! you could even preorder on amazon but now it seems to be out of stock.
For more info read engadget or ubergizmo for example
The price would be 230-250$ and is called Seagate Goflex 4tb
Expect more info and drives from other companies in the following weeks or few months
