I was looking for a definition for "The Scene" so I could explain it to a friend when I ran into this and thought I would share it with you guys. Some cool references at the bottom.
Some knowledgeable members were kind enough to explain it to me a while back. Maybe the thread below could help:

I generally prefer non-Scene to Scene releases. Scene released I have found have too many restrictions on quality. And I love my movies and my music to have the best quality possible.
When I really want a TV show, the Scene is GREAT... but if it isn't a TV show, I pretty much hate The Scene.
I don't care for 0 day releases myself. I just was trying to explain to a friend what "The Scene" was. That's what this post was about.
