Default Not feeling the love for HD-T

I know there is a fair bit of love for HD-Torrents on here but...
I've been a member for about 6wks or so and I'm struggling to see the point in this tracker.
Its quite hard to seed without a seedbox, and I refuse to download stuff I don't want purely to improve my ratio. My ratio is fine at 1.3 and I know you get points for seeding which you can exchange for upload credit, but it works out at about 2wks for 10gb. Thats like 2 movies if you're lucky.
The thing is pretty much every movie I want to download (that is on Hd-t) is on ipt, so whats the point in HD-t?
Maybe its all about your portfolio of trackers and mine just doesn't fit HD-t?
I have What and Waffles for hd music, I have Freshon for hd tv, which only really leaves movies and I have Ipt for this.
Its a nice looking tracker and I like the way you can see the cover artwork when the mouse hovvers over the title. But it seems not to keep older films seeded too long, and maybe I don't need an hd tracker, maybe I need a movie tracker?
    Whadya reckon?

Well, HD-T has BD versions of movies, if that's your thing. They also only care about ratio basically, so say you want to download a 40GB BD movie, you don't have to necessarily leave it on your seedbox/home PM for any amount of time, you can stop the torrent as soon as you are done with no fear. This is good if space is a premium.

I think HD-T has more versions of older movies, like A Knight's Tale for example as well. I checked and they appeared to be seeded, some with DTS for example, which I can't find on IPT.

Yeah thats a fair comment about hd-t having more large file rips with full 1080 dts trimmings. I guess I'm not such a techie movie watcher - my tv is 720 not 1080, don't have surround sound, don't burn to bd, I stream to ps3 via hard wire. I'll always go for the 4-6gb version of the movie instead of the 30gb bohemoth!
Guess I'm just not the ideal cutomer hd-t caters for.

request for seedbox for 3days, use it only to HD-T. grab everything new as fast as possible. you could doing great soon. since what you need is buffer, and HD-T is better with seedbox. but PTM has many of 720p/1080p too. so no worry. just request anything, they have one of best request's filler. and they ratioless.

I think you've answered your own question. I've found that retention on HD sites is not that great at all and generally good for mainly popular content, all of which can be found on your favourite 0day/general tracker. This is the exact reason why I let most of my HD accounts die, except for those that don't aggressively prune for inactivity. I found myself rarely using them as anything that was available there was also available to me via usenet or SCC.

However, I've found that a site like PtP suited my needs much more. There is a wealth of HD content, both new and old, and requests are generally filled quickly if the movie is available anywhere else. I've also found HD trackers seriously lacking in cinephiles with users caring more about the encode rather than the movie.

I don't like this tracker. I don't think it's worth the effort. Bit-HDTV is so much better imo because it's very easy to seed and has a better selection of content. In addition, as ScottK said, PreToMe has a lot of HD movies and it's ratioless, so personally I prefer BHD and PTM to HD-T.

Never bothered with anything but Bit-HDTV. And now I just use iTS for movies.

Is iTS better than PTP for movies then? Didn't think iTS had much HD movie content, obviously it is a very good general rationless tracker but not one of the best for movies?

iTS is not better than PtP for movies, but they are very good considering how small the tracker is. There are only just over 1400 enabled members and about 3600 movie torrents, with some duplication.

PtP is the best general movie tracker out there. It's got both quantity and quality.
