Default Best trackers and their alternatives

Taking into consideration tracker rankings, levels, 'getting-in' difficulty level, speeds, pre-times, collection, demand, reviews, quality & level of interactions at forums and user comments, I have concluded the names of the best trackers in their respective categories.

Note: As it is not possible for everyone to get into all the best trackers, I am also mentioning some alternatives as to which you can use as a replacement for the best one. The alternatives mentioned may vary in their 'getting-in' difficulty levels but are good and capable enough of acting as a replacement.

Before you get to the names, let me suggest you what trackers you should get your hands on out of the following. Not only it is difficult to get into all the best trackers, but it is also difficult enough to get into even one tracker of all the categories. Also you make it difficult for yourself to seed/upload and maintain good ratio by collecting lots of (unwanted) trackers, and will fail in actively using all of them regularly.

As a result, I'd recommend you to get into 1-3 good general trackers and then one account of each specialized trackers which category you download the most because remember that if you choose carefully and wisely, even just a few handful of these trackers are sufficient-enough to satisfy and fulfill all your download requirements, which will further help you maintain high activity and good ratio at all your trackers, preventing you from getting banned or deleted.

    So here we go:

    Best General tracker: TorrentLeech
    Alternative(s): IPTorrents, Torrent-Damage

    Best Scene/0day Tracker: SceneAccess
    Alternative(s): GFT

    Best Music Tracker: What.cd
Alternative(s): Waffles, TranceTraffic, Torrentech, Pedro’s BTMusic

    Best Game Tracker: BlackCatsGames
    Alternative(s): BitGamer, Underground-Gamer

    Best HD Tracker: HDBits.org
    HD-Torrents, Bit-HDTV, HD-Bits.ro

    Best TV Tracker: BitMeTV.org
    Alternative(s): TvTorrents, BTN

    Best Movie Tracker: PassThePopcorn
    Alternative(s): Speed.CD, PTN, Cinemageddon

    Best Desi Tracker: DesiTorrents
    Alternative(s): BwTorrents

    Best eLearning Tracker: BitMe.org
    Alternative(s): BitSyder, Bitseduce

    Best Noob Tracker: SceneBytes
    Alternative(s): AlphaOmega

Best Magic tracker: Art of Misdirection
    Alternative(s): NeoMagician, MagicianTorrents

Note: Your opinion may vary from the above mentioned results. So please take into consideration that I am not claiming that these are 'universally' the best trackers, but yes, some-what they are or close to being best in their respective categories.

Please do let us know if your opinion varies from that of mine by commenting. You will be most welcome to do so.

Why you put iTS at the scene category and what you consider as a "noob" tracker?
I disagree with many of your choices, like picking a niche music tracker like P as the "best" instead of What and Waffles, with BMTV for the TV one, not mentioning KG and some others.

If you really want me to tell you the reasons and my views i can do it at other time.

@Fractal, Sounds you didn't read the entire post carefully. And more importantly this most intends to help new-comers and not those hard-core torrentors, who already have their own perception. You've let us know what you feel and thanks for that :) And as I said, these results universal.

I will re-post my question, since you seemed to miss it:
Why you put iTS at the scene category and what you consider as a "noob" tracker?
Are you even a member of iTS? It is very clear to the members that this tracker sucks when it comes to scene and that the staff there prefers p2p.

Yes, i read your entire post and the only reason i didn't said anything yet is because of this:

I will refrain from questioning your picks further. As you said i already posted what i think in many other threads, but i will point one thing:
iTS isn't a scene tracker, the focus there is the exactely opposite, scene content/pres are really bad and this isn't my personal opinion

    Here you pointed very well!

IMO, you can't talk about a best tracker, especially on general/scene ones. One person could choose TL as his best one, and other can choose IPT or GFT. It's all about each person preferences. I attempted to make a list like this, long time ago, but I realized I can't because there are so many preferences, as each tracker is good on it's own way.

And about niche trackers... you missed many categories, and you compiled different let's name them, "subcategories" under the main category, and you did wrong. On the specialized ones, you can talk about the best(s) because there is only one specialized on that type, or only a few ones, but also, like the general ones, it's about preferences, even there are not so many.

Let's say the next. You compiled some music trackers, but they are specialized on different "subcategories" and you can't compare, let's say Pedro's with TT.

The compiled list should be based on tracker's content and usage by it's members, and not by "levels". A high level tracker is not necessary a quality one.

Let's see that, and let's talk only from content and activity views...

    - Pedro's is for Lossless music, and it's one of the bests on it's category. Let's not say the best because there are couple more trackers in this category, and it's about preferences as I said above, even it is known as the best one.

    - Waffles* and What* are for general music, where you can find anything you want, and they are known as the bests, because they are the biggest ones (talking about content and activity). There are some alternatives, like CE, libble etc. but they don't have that number of torrents.

    - TranceTraffic* - for EDM, one of the bests (here's an exception, it can be the best on it's category). Even it's preferred above any other tracker specialized on EDM, some people may prefer let's say TR which is also very good, or even TorrentTech.

On other categories, is the same thing:

BitMe* is well known as the best one (again exception) as it's the biggest one on general eLearn. Bitspyder is smaller than bitme, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be preferred over bitme. BitSeduce is specialized on dating and self improvement eLearn so, you can't compare it to bitme.

You can't compare cinemageddon which is specialized on old/non mainstream movies with passthepopcorn which is on "general" movies. btw, speed.cd is a general one and not a movie one.

    And so on.

Every person has it's own preferences, even if there are trackers well known as the best on their category.

    Here's a sample of what I think

General/0day: It's a big variety in this category, and so many preferences that I can't say which is the "best". But my favorite is TL.

    Music:

General: Waffles* and What.cd*, which are well know as the bests, with alternatives like CE and libble.
FLAC: Pedro's is one of bests. The others 2 ones (E and Losslessworld) are not considered alternatives to pedro's, but the bests like it.
    EDM: Trancetraffic with tranceroute
    Rock: RMT with Eotw
    Indie: Shellife with indietorrents

    Movies:

    General: PTP with PTN
HD: HD-bits.org* (also well know as the best in it's category, and it really is) with, hd-torrents, scenehd, bit-hdtv, hd-bits.ro or even hdchina/ hdcorea. Also this category has a variety of trackers.
    DVDs:BitHQ with TheDVDclub.
Old/Non-mainstream: KG* with Cinemageddon and cinematik
    AFR's: iTS.

TV: there are a few trackers that you can't compare between them, because they are chosen by preferences.

General: Bitmetv, tvt.ro, tvt.com, btn (we can say that, all of them are the best)
    British: thebox.bz
    Old: Tv-vault.me
    etc.

    eLearn:

    General: Bitme* with bitspyder
    Self Improvement: Bitseduce
    documetaries: ScienceHD
    Occult: theoccult.bz
    business: thevault.bz
    etc.

    Games:

    General: BCG* with bG
    old: Underground-gamers

And the list can continue alot more.

(Trackers noted with * may be the exceptions and be the bests on their category)

As that being said, wanted to point that, trackers should be categorized by their own subcategory, and the quality by content/preferences/activity and not levels.

    This is my own opinion.

    Cheers.

hm, it's quite an ungrateful job to do such kind of a list because there are numerous factors which need to be taken in cosideration... some of these factors ( in importance order ) are :

    1. quality & when I say quality I mean on a content which every tracker offers ( different categories, different genres, different styles, different formats... all this substantially effects on a quality )...
1.1. maintaining the ratio : is there some freeleech stuff, seeding points etc... all this counts...
    2. longevity of torrents... this characteristic is closely attached to a seeder/leecher ratio... I mean, what good does it make if some tracker has 500 000 torrents ( for example ) but half of them is dead ? of course, will every of these 500 000 torrents have, at least, 1 seeder, it depends on many factors : torrent culture of every torrenter, his habits, physical possibilities ( HDD amount, not every torrenter can seed 24/7 ) & upon the fact that every day there are hundreds of new torrents being uploaded, around the world, so it's inevitable that some torrents are '' sentenced to death ''...
    3. speeds are important too... for example, it's not the same if you're downloading some Blu-Ray film or some music album by 50 kb/s... but, in the end, if U want some torrent badly, U don't have any other option but to be patient... like some people say, patience is a virtue...

( I won't mention pre-times as a separate category because, in my opinion, pre-times are not that crucial since every well established & popular tracker will have every scene torrent withing a few hours... again, that's just my opinion )...

    4. community is extremely important factor which goes along with torrents like finger & nail... community exists to provide us torrents ASAP : without torrents, torrent community wouldn't exist as torrents couldn't be uploaded without a torrent community...
4.1. requests, what's the percent of filled requests on some tracker, that's important, too...
4.2. help/tutorial forums & their dinamics increase the quuality of community, for sure...

( also, I won't mention the fact some trackers are harder to get in than other trackers, so called tracker levels, because experience has shown that many trackers that are very hard to get in are simply overrated... )

so it's hard to do an analysis in a right way, in an objective way...

in some categories that U mentioned, there are only several good trackers so I could agree with U which one of them is the best... for example, game trackers, I believe that most of us would agree that BlackcatGames is the best for that kind of stuff ( although, BitGamer is very close )... other trackers in that category should work a little bit more to obtain that level of quality & quantity in order to be compared with 2 previously mentioned trackers...

on the other hand, there are some torrent tracker categories which are literally crowded with an excellent trackers... for example, general/0-day trackers... when U see just these trackers ( without taking in consideration some young & perspective trackers ), I think it's impossible to measure their quality & claim the winner between them : TorrentLeech, RevTT, IPT, SceneAccess, GFT....
also, when it comes to music trackers, just look @ this list : What.cd, Waffles, M-Vidz, Pedro's, TranceTraffic etc...

P.S. just a little suggestion, you should have sorted those torrent tracker categories in an alphabetical order...

    cheers !

E***O is a dediacted lossless audio tracker, which provides very high quality obscure albums in FLAC. Mostly older stuff here, and a lot JAZZ & Classcial genres. Just about every upload comes with Hi res scans
